    Mark 2:15; 2 Peter 2:15-16

    Mark 2:15

    KJV 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

    Recovery Version

     Mark 2:15 And as He reclined at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining together with Jesus and His disciples, for there were many, and they were following Him.

    These are my thoughts.

     Those who can admit they are sinners are the ones who see their need to follow Jesus.

    2 Peter 2:15-16King James Version (KJV)

    15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

    16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

    2 Peter 2:15-16 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

    15 They have forsaken the right way and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

    16 but was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with a man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

    15 They backslide as many call it; they gone from God’s will not just open sins. Now the way of Balaam this leads to open sins, perhaps idolatry perhaps lust and adultery perhaps others evils but this shows there backslidden state was more than no doing God’s will it was doing something against God’s will. We are going to sin and perhaps backslide but we do need to consider that not doing what God wants from us and going from it is a backslidden state just as much as falling into a sin, we should be careful not to put ourselves first. Unrighteousness is anything that is against God’s will or plan.

    16 This is referring back to the story of Balaam. Balaam was a false prophet not one called by God but God caused him to go mad a share a message God had given him. We should not wait till God has a donkey talk for us to turn from sin and back to Him.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.

    We need to follow Jesus when we receive our call from Him as Matthew did hear.

    2 Peter 2:13-14King James Version (KJV)

    13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

    14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

    2 Peter 2:13-1421st Century King James Version (KJ21)

    13 and shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceptions while they feast with you,

    14 having eyes full of adultery and who cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls; their hearts they have exercised with covetous practices; accursed children!

    13 The reward of unrighteousness is hell fire and eternal separation from God. Unrighteousness also had results itself; sin often leads to more sin which can lead to rewards us o not want here on earth. The bible says their pleasure in sin for a season when this season end reaping of what is sown often comes out. There are going to be people who come into the church who are of this frame of mind, they will appear to be of us but not truly be, they themselves may even be fooled to think they are righteous but we are only righteous by Christ.

    14 Adultery often comes from a lust. There is also spiritually adultery where we Christians being the bride of Christ come to bed with another, or follow after something or someone other than our Lord Jesus, the bride groom. The church ha bared children out of the relationship with the world some of this has been movements accepting the worlds views as church doctrine, we are to separated from the world not be conformed to it be transform it adultery is done when this is not, when we the church follow the world or the ways of sin rather than Jesus.

    These are my thoughts.

    If we look we will find God looking to ministry us during our times of temptation.

    2 Peter 2:10-12King James Version (KJV)

    10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

    11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

    12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

    2 Peter 2:10-1221st Century King James Version (KJ21)

    10 There are those who say they follow Christ but they live like the world. They follow after their flesh instead of following the ways of God, being lead by the Spirit. We should not follow after the things our flesh desires because this is often sin. Paul said he does not do what he wants and does do what he does not want. We ourselves will struggle with our flesh. The world will do what they want and nothing will stop them. We should not expect them to live like we Christians do because they are missing the most important part Christ being Lord and having the Spirit. They follow only what they know and that is the flesh sin.

    11 Angels may be our accusers. We are unable to do anything without God knowing it. God is all knowing and knows our sins that are not covered by the blood of Christ. If our sins are covered by the blood He may know them but sees the blood and knows we have been forgiven.

    12 The world is going to hate us because they do not understand what we do our why we follow God if they did they would join us. They killed Christ because they did not understand Hi purpose if they did they would have realized to stop Him they needed to keep Him alive but if they truly understood they would have followed Him as well. To devote our lives to ways of God instead of the ways of the flesh makes no sense to those who live for the flesh, those of the world.

    These are my thoughts.

     When we come to Christ we will see things that we never imagined possible.

    2 Peter 2:8-9King James Version (KJV)

    (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

    The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

    2 Peter 2:8-921st Century King James Version (KJ21)

    (for that righteous man, having dwelt among them seeing and hearing, was vexed in his righteous soul day after day with their unlawful deeds)—

    then the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished,

    8 We will get to the point where we do not want to spend time in sin or be around those whose lives are about sin but will want to do things of righteousness things the Lord wants us to do and to spend time with others who are serving the Lord.

    9 The Lord can take temptations away from us if He wills it and us pray for it to be done. The Lord will keep certain temptations in our life so we can grow. If we did not get weak we might stop relying on Him often times our weaknesses our temptations we have.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.
