    These are my thoughts.

Do we choose to try to get close to Jesus?

    Job 11:4-6

KJV 4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. 5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; 6And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

Job 11:4-6 Good News Translation (GNT)

    4 You claim that what you say is true;

you claim you are pure in the sight of God.

5 How I wish God would answer you!

    6 He would tell you there are many sides to wisdom;

there are things too deep for human knowledge.

God is punishing you less than you deserve.

4 This was him speaking of what Job was saying. God Himself said Job was faithful and good. God never said he was perfect and if we have Christ then we can be faithful and thru Him we can be good but only He is perfect.

5 God would later answer Job but his friends would not want this because they would be punished. God will answer us but sometimes the answer wont be easy.

6 To know God and serve Him is true wisdom. Job was not denying this he was just defending himself because they blamed his condition on a hidden sin in his life. We deserve hell because of our sin but thru grace in Jesus we can gain glory.

    Mark 5:23; Job 11:1-3

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-36DMSx5pI

    Mark 5:23

KJV 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

Mark 5:23 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

23 and started begging him for help. He said, “My daughter is about to die! Please come and touch her, so she will get well and live.”

    These are my thoughts.

We should turn to Jesus with our needs.

    Job 11:1-3

KJV 1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, 2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? 3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

Job 11:1-3 Good News Translation (GNT)

11 1-2 Will no one answer all this nonsense?
Does talking so much put you in the right?
Job, do you think we can't answer you?
That your mocking words will leave us speechless?

1-2 Zophar wanted a response from someone and sense no one else was going to speak up he was. Zophar considered what Job said as nonsense but it was Job true feelings, for Job these people were kicking him when he was down. He is mocking Job.

3 He ridicules Job for what he said, Job needed to be uplifted. Job was not speaking to have them be quiet he was pleading his case to God, not to them truth is his faults were not aginst them so they had no reason to speak.

    Jude 1:5; Titus 1:10-11

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuCuDTahOPI

    Jude 1:5

KJV 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Jude 5 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

Don’t forget what happened to those people that the Lord rescued from Egypt. Some of them did not have faith, and he later destroyed them.

Contemporary English Version (CEV) Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society

    These are my thoughts.

If we don’t have faith in Him we will be headed to destruction.

    Titus 1:10-11

KJV 10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

Titus 1:10-11 Good News Translation (GNT)

10 For there are many, especially the converts from Judaism, who rebel and deceive others with their nonsense. 11 It is necessary to stop their talk, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching what they should not, and all for the shameful purpose of making money.

10 There were so many who pushed the law and expected people to follow Christ and keep all of the law, the Gentiles were never meant to live by Jewish law when they were elsewhere. They were teaching what they wanted to see be done rather then teach what the Lord wanted, they couldn’t accept that Christ fulfilled their law.

11 They needed not to buy into the false teaching and we shouldn’t fall into the false teaching out their either we need to stay true to His word. Titus had the job to stop this from happening in his area to let people be at peace with Christ. They were doing it for money a lot of people’s problems are motivated by greed and often times people corrupt their values for the right price but Christ died for us and nothing this world could give us is worth as much as Him.

    Mark 5:22; Job 10:21-22

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkkVUMfjDDM

    Mark 5:22

KJV 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

Mark 5:22 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

22 The person in charge of the Jewish meeting place was also there. His name was Jairus, and when he saw Jesus, he went over to him. He knelt at Jesus' feet

Contemporary English Version (CEV) Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society

    These are my thoughts.

This man showed reverence to Jesus, we should do the same.

    Job 10:21-22

KJV 21 Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; 22 A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.

Job 10:21-22 Good News Translation (GNT)

21 I am going soon and will never come back—
going to a land that is dark and gloomy,
22  a land of darkness, shadows, and confusion,
where the light itself is darkness.

Good News Translation (GNT) Copyright © 1992 by American Bible Society

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

21 Job thought that he would soon die, we pictured death as a dark gloomy place. Understanding of death in Job’s time may have caused fear but Job was fearing what his life had in store for him still more then the grave.

22 This is not a picture of Sheol but a closer picture to hell. A place of no light no understanding a place of no hope, this isn’t where Job would go where he died.

    Mark 5:21; Job 10:18-20

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W850QtLJmL8&t=2s

    Mark 5:21

KJV 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

Mark 5:21 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

A Dying Girl and a Sick Woman

21 Once again Jesus got into the boat and crossed Lake Galilee. Then as he stood on the shore, a large crowd gathered around him.

Contemporary English Version (CEV) Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society

    These are my thoughts.

The crowds followed Jesus for a time but did not have a devotion for Him they would be the ones that turned against Him.

    Job 10:18-20

KJV 18 Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me! 19 I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave. 20 Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

Job 10:18-20 Good News Translation (GNT)

18 Why, God, did you let me be born?
I should have died before anyone saw me.
19 To go from the womb straight to the grave
would have been as good as never existing.
20 Isn't my life almost over? Leave me alone!
Let me enjoy the time I have left.

Good News Translation (GNT) Copyright © 1992 by American Bible Society

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

18 Job was unhappy being born because of what he was going thru everything he held dear he had lost he even thought God turned against him. He wanted to be dead to have had no human contact but Job being righteous would have had influence that made difference in others life prior to this and we have his story today so Job was important and God had a purpose for everything and this is what we have to hold onto during our struggles.

19 This is what Job was thinking due to his condition and often struggles can put us into like depression but God will often times bring friends our way that we matter to if not we still mattered enough for Christ to die for us and this means we have value.

20 Job was hoping that since he wasn’t dead that God would end his life soon Job wasn’t considering taking his own life but wanting God to take it but God had bigger things still left for Job and often times God has bigger things for us on the other side of a struggle. Job could not enjoy his time with the attitude he had but his friends were making him feel worse.
