HOW LONG?
A very close friend and brother in Christ got really bad news today. He has an aneurysm that is very bad[6.7centimeters.] and can’t be operated on. The question is how long will he live before it bursts? I told him no one is guaranteed tomorrow we must live for today because we do not know what the future holds. But if we are a child of God we know how it will end. I heard about a man who dropped dead of a massive heart attack this man did not have high blood pressure or high cholesterol no symptoms he was just 60 yrs old. But suddenly his life was over. We never know when our lives will end on earth. We do know however if we are saved where we will go. And that is a great feeling…John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The person who believes in me, even though he dies, will live. 26 Indeed, everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?”

MASTER?
Written anonymously on the walls of a medieval castle were the following words: You call me Master and Obey me not. You call me Light and See me not. You call me Way and Walk me not. You call me Life and Desire me not. You call me Wise and Follow me not. You call me Fair and LOve me not. You call me Rich and Ask me not. You call me Eternal and Seek me not. You call me Gracious and Trust me not. If I condemn you, Blame me not. - Unknown

WHY ME?
Sometimes we may wonder why things happen the way they do. It may seem like God is picking on us. In order to answer this question maybe we need to look at what we are doing. It just might be that we are bringing a lot if not all of this on ourselves. While its true God does chastise us. If we are Christians we must remember that good things are of God and evil things are of Satan…1Timothy 4:4 For everything God created is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving…Matthew 6:13 And never bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

God Is Faithful
We have all probably had someone to promise to help us with something only to let us down. Maybe a friend failed to show up at a get together or didn’t follow up on a promised phone call. Maybe our friend promised to stand by us during a trying and difficult time, then ran when things got really tough. We can be very thankful that God is faithful to bring us through the hard times. He knows what things look like on the other side of the turmoil. He will carry us through the raging waters of grief or the torrent of despair. He will help us stand against the winds of frustration that threaten to blow us away. We may not always understand His methods, But we can always trust His heart..1Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, through whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Devotional Scriptures
Devotional Scriptures For Today Colossians 2:20-23 If you have died with Christ to the basic principles of the world, why are you submitting to its decrees as though you still lived in the world? 21 "Don't handle this! Don't taste or touch that!" 22 All of these things will be destroyed through use because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23 These things have the appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion, humility, and harsh treatment of the body, but they have no value against self-indulgence.

Love
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in His love. ..John 15:10 A new commandment I give you that you love one another as I have loved you. That ye also love one another.. John 13:34. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: For ye yourselfs are taught of God to love one another. 1 Thessalonians 4:9 We love him because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19.

A GOOD REPORT
Everybody loves a good report. A good report card from school. A victory in sports. A great catch on a fishing trip. A good closing bell. A good word from our doctor. Maybe a great Sunday school attendance or a great revival with many people saved. We all love a good report. This must have been the case when Paul and Barnabas brought their report to their sponsoring church in Antioch. There was great excitement they had preached the word faithfully but experienced mixed results. They were run out of town, threatened lauded as pagan gods . But God had blessed it all. A few Jews and many Gentiles had accepted Jesus as their Messiah. Churches were established. It was really a good report..Act 14:27 And having arrived, and gathering the church they related all that God had done with them, and how He had opened the door of faith to the nations.

MATURITY?
Maturity varies one person may be mature when reaching adulthood, while someone older may have never grown up. We may be able to measure maturity by the development of ones character as demonstrated through ones choices. We must make a conscious decision to develop maturity. Scripture provides the means to measure maturity in Christ: we choose to be unified in the faith and well versed in the knowledge of the Son of God. Spiritual maturity, then is measured by our relationships. We must live in harmony with fellow believers and walk faithfully with Jesus, growing in our personal relationship with Him…Ephesians 4:13 until all of us are united in the faith and in the full knowledge of God’s Son, and until we attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in Christ.

THE FALL
Sometimes when we feel like we could never fail that we are in full control, something happens that changes our whole life . A man was trimming a tree in his yard and in a split second his life was changed. He went from being in full control to near death in a matter of seconds. He cut a big limb and was knocked off the ladder he was standing on, fell about thirty feet. After the fall he was flown to the nearest trauma center and emergency surgery had to be performed to save his life. He has four children and a wife . Being only forty years old has has a lot to live for. God spared this man for a reason you see he is a Christian and had fell out of the grace of God. He was blinded by the world but now he says his eyes have been opened and he realizes who is really in control. The Lord God who always can catch us when we fall. This happened this past Saturday and many people are praying for him. We would like to ask you join us in prayer. He is my niece’s husband and by Gods grace he is going to recover….1John 5:4 For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.
