So I pray, hold my tongue away from the words it should not say. In Jesus name, Amen.

    Beauty vs Wisdom vs Now

And so I was thinking: Eze 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: You are the full measure and pattern of exactness [giving the finishing touch to all that constitutes completeness], full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Eze 28:13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and your settings and your sockets and engravings were wrought in gold. On the day that you were created they were prepared. [Gen. 3:14, 15; Isa. 14:12-15; Matt. 16:23] Eze 28:14 You were the anointed cherub that covers with overshadowing [wings], and I set you so. You were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire [like the paved work of gleaming sapphire stone upon which the God of Israel walked on Mount Sinai]. [Exod. 24:10] Eze 28:15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you. Eze 28:16 Through the abundance of your commerce you were filled with lawlessness and violence, and you sinned; therefore I cast you out as a profane thing from the mountain of God and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire. Eze 28:17 Your heart was proud and lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I lay you before kings, that they might gaze at you. Eze 28:18 You have profaned your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and the enormity of your guilt, by the unrighteousness of your trade. Therefore I have brought forth a fire from your midst; it has consumed you, and I have reduced you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who looked at you. And I pray for wisdom, in your name, Jesus. Amen

    Crows of Spring

And we awakened to happy caws and feathers flying in the clear sunny breeze outside our windows. "This is the day the Lord hath made..." How beyond words lovely and filled with delight. Our random verse for the day is "To one is given in and through the Holy Spirit a message of wisdom, and to another the power to express a word of knowledge and understanding according to the same Holy Spirit." First Cor 12:8. Thank you for your comfort and this day. Hold us still and always in your heart and hand -- in your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.

    Blessings and Thanks

What a weekend! So our son is truly home again, his eyes and heart clearer, if at least temporarily. These days of wrenching for him and for the grandchildren will, we pray, be a purification eventually wringing (ringing) out of the cacophony of divorce, a joyful noise unto the lord and in the furtherance of life's promise. Perhaps there will healing for the self acknowledged Jezebel also. We shake her dust off our family's feet without hate and hope our son's heart can really let her go the same way, casting no stones but leaving her rectitude to God and God alone. So, Jesus, give our son ears to hear your voice clearly and to know forgiveness -- and to be able to give it, even to her, without being entrapped inside the deceiver's tongue and further splitting the broken heart. Help him find grace again and take heart that Easter is for him, too. And for our daughter still lost in Babel, please work your wonders and soften her heart. And for our eldest, thank you for the blessing of his pure heart and his wife's christian love. Keep,I pray, your mantle spread over our house and over the children and the children's children, and keep righteousness, honesty, and mercy inside my husband and my hearts, directing our voices and giving us the wisdom to be good and faithful counselors in your service without selfish or pride-filled aims, I ask in your name sweet and dear Jesus, Amen.

And God so loved the world that...

And sometimes I wonder how and why. Do we love our creations that much? Do we trust them to make the right choices for their ultimate outcome that much? We are in our children as God is in us. How do we really understand that? I can think it, but do I know it? If I really understood it in all its ramifications would my life change? Or better yet, how would my life change? Would it change the way I connect with my children? How did Solomon get such a break?!! To be able to ask for a blessing...but then we can, too; can't we? Well, I pray for wisdom, in Jesus name, Amen.

    Days of Ice

So last night the darkness surrounded him, my son the furtive eyed prodigal still. Today his Billy Budd brother reminded me not to cast pearls before swine, but also not to cast stones. It is a hard time. My daughter of Eve, is self-satisfied, eating the proffered apple from her self anointed judgment seat. So, my good husband and I wait for spiritual growth to insight our actions -- and we pray. We think of the coming spring, of re-birth -- to Easter and its promises. I hold my heart out to God and ask that He keep his mantle over my house, His house, in this still winter day, in Jesus name, Amen.
