    Tears

Tears are funny things. People cry when they are happy, they cry when they are sad, and sometimes they cry just to be crying. Tears can cleanse, tears can comfort, tears are a language that Jesus will always understand. To me, one of the most important verses in the Bible, even though it is the shortest is John 11:35, "Jesus wept."

I was thinking today about the Challenger disaster, September 11, Oklahoma City, the hurricanes along the Gulf Coast, and other disasters that have hit and challenged this great country of ours. At the time many people wondered where God was when all these bad things were happening. He was right here with us, tears streaming down his face. He gave comfort to those who would be comforted and he wept with those who could not stop weeping. God is always here.

    God Bless

    Every knee shall bow

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father - Philippians 2:10-11. Isn't it wonderful that one day we shall see satan have to bow his knee before God and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord? Just thinking of this gives me strength to continue day by day because it proves that he is no stronger than I let him be and that one day he too will bow and acknowledge what he has fought all these years.

    Salt of the earth

Matthew 5:13 states "Ye are the salt of the earth..." (KJV) What does salt do? First, salt preserves. I am from the country and to me there is nothing better than an old-fashioned, salted down country ham. The salt preserves the meat so that it does not have to be eaten right away. Fry up a piece of country ham in the morning and you will quickly realize what else salt does. Salt makes you thirsty. You drink water and drink water and never seem to be satisfied. As the salt of the earth, have you made anyone thirsty for Jesus lately? Have you offered them the Living Water of His Word? Let's get out there and create some thirst for Jesus!

    Bless you all.
