    Mark 1:30; 1 Peter 3:17-18

    Mark 1:30

KJV(i)30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

KJ2000(i)30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and immediately they told him of her.

    My thoughts.
To have a family member being sick is hard but we should bring it to God and let Him do his will.

    1 Peter 3:17-18

    King James Version (KJV)

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

    1 Peter 3:17-18

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for welldoing than for evildoing.

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit,

17 We as believers are to be like Christ and by doing so we should let the Father’s will be the guide post for our lives and follow not our own will but follow His will. Jesus prayed for the Lord’s will to done on earth as it is in heaven. It is better we suffer for doing good by following Him then to suffer for our sins. Those who suffer for doing right will be rewarded by Him, where they will not tarnish or rust. The evil doing will be punished in hell if it is not covered in blood.

18 Christ suffered for our sins in our place with His death on the cross, this does not mean we will not face results from our actions but means we will not have divine judgment for our sins if we ask for forgiveness and receive Christ as Lord. This verse shows that all need Christ and none can truly do without even though most will not see this until they receive Him. Christ died so we might live thru Him and with Him, bringing us to glory. We are dead to the flesh and made alive in the Spirit.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.

    Mark 1:29; 1 Peter 3:15-16

    Mark 1:29

KJV(i)29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
CAB(i)29 And immediately when they went out from the synagogue, they came to the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

    My thoughts.

Church goes beyond the building and is more the people, no matter where the meet if they are together fellowshiping with each other and the Lord it is church.

    1 Peter 3:15-16

    King James Version (KJV)

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

    1 Peter 3:15-16

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

16 Have a good conscience, that, whereas they speak evil of you as of evildoers, they who falsely accuse may be ashamed by your good manner of life in Christ.

15 We are made pure thru our relationship and fellowship with God thru Jesus our Lord. We should be ready to answer this does not mean if we do not know the answer we should make something up, if we don’t know we can try to find out and then come back to them and if we need to we can ask those we trust if we can not find the answer after we study ourselves, we should not skip the step of trying to answer the question by looking for it ourselves because they did come to us after all and not someone else for the answer. Jesus is often the answer to their problems. We should always be ready to share our testimony this is something that we will not have to study for because it changed our life and this story should grow as we do in Him.

16 We should live different than the world; the difference shows that the Christians serve the Lord and that the world does not. If those of faith live as the world then they will not see a need for Christ since there is no difference between them and the church the difference allows them to see the need for Christ.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.

    Mark 1:28; 1 Peter 3:11-14

    Mark 1:28

KJV(i) 28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
CAB(i) 28 And immediately the report of Him went out into the whole surrounding region of Galilee.

    My thoughts.
We should not spread our own fame as we do things but continue to spread His fame.

    1 Peter 3:11-14

    King James Version (KJV)

11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

    14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

    1 Peter 3:11-14

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

11 Let him eschew evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”

13 And who is he that will harm you if ye be followers of that which is good?

14 But if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye. “And be not afraid of their terror; neither be troubled.”

11 We are to allow working thru us, by doing this nothing but good will come of it but doing good and right is not always the easiest thing to do. We should not seek conflict or strife but peace but living for Him will bring conflict because the world hates the truth which we are to speak. Often doing what we want leads to sin but following Him never leads us to sin.

12 The Lord keeps watch on His followers and He guides them by His Spirit. The Lord will hear our prayers, this does not always mean the answer will be what we want but there will be an answer. The Lord will bring judgment against those who die without Him, He wants them to come to Him but they reject Him.

13 No one can truly harm us, we are His may destroy the body but our soul is saved by Him because of our faith. People may try to harm us and try to destroy our faith; this is when we should go to Him the most. The world has tried to destroy Christianity and this will never happen.

14 Our sufferings will bring us rewards and may set examples for other followers. For example there is only a few followers killed in scripture for Christ’s name, Stephen, James and not many more but, we have heard other stories of people dying for their faith which shows how that can be a witness even in future generations. All praise should b to Him but we can learn from others who followed Him.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.

    Mark 1:27; 1 Peter 3:9-10

    Mark 1:27

KJV(i)27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
CAB(i)27 Then they were all amazed, so that they were disputing among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this, that He commands even the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey Him?"
    My thoughts.
God's power makes people think and turn to Him if they are not blinded by sin.

    1 Peter 3:9-10

    King James Version (KJV)

9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

    1 Peter 3:9-10

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing, knowing that ye are called thereto, that ye might inherit a blessing.

10 For, “He that would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.

9 We should be different the world, they look for revenge and payback but we should be as Christ and show love and forgiveness. Unlike the world we should pray for those who cause trouble for us. We will receive the blessings of salvation because we have accepted His grace. We also will receive blessings of heaven.

10 We should speak as Christians and not as the world to watch the tongue is often hard. Negative views are easy to take on as a Christians because we truly see how bad the world is. We should be of cheer though because we know who is in charge of things even through the chaos of the world.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.
