"Faith seeks understanding passionately and relentlessly, or it languishes and eventually dies...Human life ceases to be human not when we do not have all the answers, but when we no longer have the courage to ask the really important questions." ~Daniel L. Glory

Christians often talk about God's glory. We sing songs about the awesome works of his hands and about the amazing love he has for us that is so glorious. It is true that these things are part of God's glory. His glory is beautiful, but I think Christians often forget that while beautiful, God's glory is also often described as terrible. In Psalms 99:3 the writer tells the people to praise God's great and terrible name for it is holy. Also in Job 37:22 God's majesty is described as terrible. Now, let me pause to clarify at the beginning. I am not saying that God is terrible, that he is not beautiful, or that he doesn't love us incredibly much. I am saying that Christians sing about an awesome God but forget to be awed. I believe that this is the mistake that Job made during his times of trial. He forgot about a healthy fear of God. Not that he should have been cowering in a corner afraid of what God would do to him next, but that he should have thought a while first before he challenged a God who could destroy the entire earth in an instant, a God of ultimate power. We Christians need to remember that while God is our loving Father, he is not to be treated casually. He is still the God who created the world, as he reminded Job. We need to remember to treat him with the respect and reverence and awe that he deserves. Maybe if we treated him that way more often people who are not Christians would begin to understand that God is no someone to be taken lightly.

Hey everyone! I've been very busy working two jobs this summer which is why I haven't posted in so long. However, I think my schedule has slowed down a little bit and I will have time to post again. At least. I hope so. I don't have time now because I have yo finish gettting ready for church now, but I wanted to let everyone know that I am still alive and I will be posting again soon.
