          A Call to Repentance

    Mon, Jul 17th - 1:35AM

    Thanks again!

I just read Lois' and Jon's comments that I solicited concerning my continued writing here.  Thank you both so much for your encouragement!  With that, I believe I owe it to the others here to continue to make contributions as I am led and am able.  God has a place and a purpose for us all in Christ's body and I desire to find and fulfill that for my body and soul.

Today was an interesting day, to say the least.  It was the last day of our church's annual tent meeting, and this morning's service had a glory I could hardly describe.  After the dinner that followed, I seemed led downtown (Colorado Springs), and discovered the homosexual "Pride Fest" to be taking place at a park in the center of town.  I parked some distance away and casually wandered into the midst of that detestable gathering, first to the Wells Fargo booth, which is my business bank.  I had spoken personally with the local chief executive of Wells Fargo, who professed to me to be a "Christian" last year about his organization's involvement in the activity.  My desire today was to pick up more of the little brochures I got there then explaining the company's "diversity" policy so I could hand them to the tellers I encounter in my business transacting.  The perversion and rebellion there this year seemed and certainly was worse than last as I walked through the park and past the fountain that children and adults frolic in.  When I left, the burden didn't seem to leave me so I took a long perimeter about a block away from  the park and began praying fervently, out loud as I walked.  Eventually I came back closer to the park as the realization dawned on me that I was entirely in the midst of not only Godless people, but those who were flaunting their hatred of Him and His holy moral law.  My praying became more and more passionate with tears at times, especially as I passed by little children and infants led by wicked parents dragging them into their horrible sins.  I certainly did this not to judge them in a condemning way, as I was a former fornicator and participator in many sinful sexual paractices myself.  Rather my concern was for God's lost sheep in their midst, and for the church in this "Evangelical" Jerusalem, that it is so complacent and passive, and even somewhat supportive of the terrible sensuality being celebrated there today.

Well my final pass was right through the festival with a fervent, prayer right in the middle of  the park with my eyes and hands raised to heaven.  Many were watching and listening, even though the band in the stand was playing very loudly, and some mocked and certainly resented my presence there.  One of the organizers of the fest came to me and told me I must leave, and soon a red-bereted "Guardian Angel"  confronted me in official pose with the same command, which I declined to obey.  Finally a police offficer was brought and asked me what was going on, and when he couldn't hear my reply I raised my voice and answered again very close to his face.  In a moment I was on the ground on my chest with handcuffs fastened by another officer. Being raised to my  feet I was led away through the crowded park, thanking God for the privilege of this mild persecution.  After a rather intense discussion with a "Christian" police sergeant, supposedly a graduate of Oral Roberts Univerity at a building there I was released on condition I would leave the park.

Well, our final meeting in the tent was to be in a couple of hours, and after a brief time at an overlook above the city, and a shower at home, I returned to the white tent besides our little church, to ponder not only my activities that day, but all that God had been speaking to me, and to us during the week of meetings.  I returned home tonight, exhausted in mind and soul, but somehow strengthened and comforted by the Spirit of a faithful God, who would have none to perish, but all to come to repentance.

My testimony before the congregation this morning was "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost..."  of which I was the lostest!

May the Lord God bless you all in this coming week!

    Thanks for the Comments!

I just checked this log after not posting for a couple of months and was pleasantly surprised that my last post was still posted, negative  as it was, and that comments continue to be posted to it, although I have not received notification of them at my e-address.  Praise the Lord!  I thank Him that folks continue to read, and hopefully think on what I have said here.

I've been quite busy with my work of late.  I paint and repair houses and have been swamped thus far this summer.  This has also given me time to think about the log site and whether or not I am truly benefitting anyone, and God's kingdom by continuing to post here.  Any thoughts or comments are welcome.
