Romans 12:3,16 (AMP)
3For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him. 16Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. This could be a message for me at many times. Annagail Lynes covered this on the 26th from Proverbs. I know there are times I think "this is something better suited for _ _ _ _ _ (fill in the blank, any name will do...)" And the unfinished part of the thought is: "it is beneath my talents..."Excuse me? Who owns those talents? If you claim ownership, I ask you to step back and examine that again... My point is this: There are times to be considering what your talents are and there are times for putting such considerations aside. No job is beneath our dignity. Do not be afraid to wash feet, like Christ. In Christ, Mel

Romans 1:17, 20 (AMP)
17For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. 20For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], When you have problems believing the unseen, can you at least believe the seen? And walking by that, moving in small faith, growing to yet more? In Hope, Mel

From July 4th Reading:
Acts 23:5 (AMP) 5And Paul said, I was not conscious, brethren, that he was a high priest; for the Scripture says, You shall not speak ill of a ruler of your people. Matt 23:10 (AMP) 10And you must not be called masters (leaders), for you have one Master (Leader), the Christ.

James 1:16-18 (NIV)
16Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
