Romans 12:3,16 (AMP)
3For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.
16Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits.
This could be a message for me at many times. Annagail Lynes covered this on the 26th from Proverbs. I know there are times I think "this is something better suited for _ _ _ _ _ (fill in the blank, any name will do...)" And the unfinished part of the thought is: "it is beneath my talents..."Excuse me? Who owns those talents? If you claim ownership, I ask you to step back and examine that again... My point is this: There are times to be considering what your talents are and there are times for putting such considerations aside. No job is beneath our dignity. So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], When you have problems believing the unseen, can you at least believe the seen?
