How can we maintain that unity?

          - I want to do more than diagnose the problem, I want to talk about what we can do to make sure it doesn’t happen to us.

          - I got to thinking about the unity that the early church enjoyed and how we can have that.

          - There is a Greek word - “homothumadon” - that pretty much only shows up in the book of Acts (11 of 12 NT uses). It means “with one mind, unanimous, in one accord.” I want to briefly look at what the early church was doing that kept their unity. (We’re just going to handle it briefly; I may come back and unpack this some other time.)

Maintaining The Unity Of The Church:

          1. Acts 1:14 - It all starts with PRAYER.

          2. Acts 2:46 - Stay focused on the PURPOSES.

          3. Acts 4:24 - Be quick to lift up PRAISE.

          4. Acts 5:12 - Be channels of God’s POWER.

          5. Acts 8:4-6 - Boldly PREACH the Word.

          6. Acts 15:25 - Maintain biblical PEACE.

          7. Acts 19:29 (and 7:57 and 18:12) - Don’t be surprised by PERSECUTION. ...

    Thoughts to Ponder

    Thoughts to Ponder

Have you ever asked God to make something go away? Maybe an encounter with someone you knew would be difficult, a task at work you didn’t feel prepared to handle, or something much larger like pain due to the loss of a loved one.
Have you ever prayed, “Dear Lord, please make this situation go away?”
If you have never visited Proverbs 31 , you really should it is great for women encourage men also. During the time of my deepest trials, I learned that though at first, He was busy at work in my life loving me, teaching me and caring for me. When I was in the Valley, I was not alone. He was there, leading me through. When my personal prayers became ones asking where He wanted to take me, we began a journey that I am still on. God doesn’t promise that it will be easy, but He does promise that He’ll stay by our side. And it’s worth it, friends. I will never forget how He has all ways turn things around for me get me on tract when my world seems to stop. I learned to let God into my life and allow Him to take complete control.
One of the most difficult thing to do when you going through difficult times is give thanks. We’re not thanking Him for the difficult times but the fact that He’s with us as we go through them.

Trust no matter how impossible situations look, believe that God will stand by his word and if it doesn’t work out the way you expected it to know that in the end he will turn it around for your good.

    Pray, give thanks, trust

Paul had the same issues with making mistakes. He writes in his letter to the Romans: 7:18,19 For I know that in me that is, in my flesh nothing good dwells; for to His will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find it easy sometimes. I say like Paul I don’t want to do what is wrong, often I do it anyway. I often fail miserably to do the right thing. When I feel I have an issue, I know who I must go to, He will see my need I will give it to him, He will help me, I don’t have to worry about my load getting heavy. I know He will make our burdens light.

    Walk in Love,

I’m grateful that even during those times when He does not meet my expectations His plan is ultimately for my good. I am grateful that our Lord will not forsake me in my times of need .I have had many during my lifetime. He still loves me. Hebrews 4 :12,13 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
