Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

    Proverbs 3:5,6

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"

"Because I'm a woman," she told  him.

     "I don't understand," he said.

His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father,
"Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man,
     still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God.

    When God answered, he asked,
"God, why do women cry so  easily?"

    God  said:
"When I made the woman she had to be Special.
I made Her Shoulders strong enough
to carry the weight of the world,
yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave Her an Inner Strength
    to endure childbirth
    and the rejection
that many times comes from her children.

    I gave Her a Hardness
that allows her to keep going
    when everyone else gives up,
and take care of her family
through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave Her the sensitivity to Love her children
    under any and All circumstances,
even when her child has Hurt Her Very Badly !

I gave Her Strength to carry her husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her Wisdom to know
that a good husband Never Hurts his wife,
    but sometimes tests her strengths
and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed.
This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God,
"the Beauty of a Woman is not
     in the clothes she wears,
     the figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.

The Beauty of a woman must be seen in Her Eyes,
because that is the doorway to Her Heart
      - the place where Love resides."

Psalms 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

This was written by a Hospice of Metro Denver physician.

I just had one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and wanted to share it with my family and dearest friends:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die. I barely managed to coast, cursing, into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to
wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the "quickie mart" building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a Gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her
up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.

At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.

I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying "I don't want my kids to see me crying," so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, "And you were crying?" That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.

She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City. Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have the money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally in desperation had finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.

So she packed up everything she owned in the car She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there.

I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?"

This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...

Religion tends to want to fix us from the outside in. God wants to fix us from the inside out. The first can become an impossible burden. The latter is what brings freedom. Christianity is not a set of rules and regulations. It is experiencing divine love, divine acceptance and divine forgiveness.

IT'S IN THE VALLEYS I GROW

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
    And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

    I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

    My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
    He went through the valley of death;
    His victory was Satan's loss.

    Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

    Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

    Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
    The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow!

(This poem was written by Jane Eggleston who currently lives in Virginia. Her son Jeff states, "She is a wonderful person, loves Jesus and has been the best mother anyone could ever ask for." What a fitting tribute to any mother.)  Thankyou Sister Jane for such a Beautiful message.

    ~DEATH~

WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN IT...

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to

leave the examination room and said,

"Doctor, I am afraid to die.

Tell me what lies on the other side."

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."

"You don't know?  You, a Christian man,

do not know what is on the other side?"

    The doctor was holding the handle of the door;

on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,

and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room

and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said,

    "Did you notice my dog?

He's never been in this room before.

He didn't know what was inside.

He knew nothing except that his master was here,

and when the door opened,  he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death,

but I do know one thing...

I know my Master is there and that is enough."

    LUKE 23:
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit." And having said thus, He gave up the ghost.

"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

    Ezekiel 1:28
As the appearance of the rainbow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of One who spoke.

    And with your final heartbeat
    Kiss the world goodbye.
Then go in peace, and laugh on glory's side . . . and
    Fly to Jesus,
    Fly to Jesus,
    Fly to Jesus and live!

These words mean so much to me ... I just can't wait to do just THAT... "Fly to Jesus"  and kiss the world GOOD-BYE!

This blogging stuff is very new to me, so please bare with me if I do something stupid. What I want to do here is share with you things I might fine throughout the Internet or hear or see that I think NEEDS to be shared and hope that it will be a Blessing to you. Like this little tag that I made up. I saw on a Church billboard "In the dark... follow the Son".  I thought that was very clever, but I changed it a bit to this:
