The Law Of Struggling
There is
therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. ~ Romans 8:1
We are redeemed
form the law. We are not under the law. We are under grace (Romans
6:14). Condemnation comes from striving, struggling to do every thing
just right. It comes when we work for God and not with Him.

Runaway Mind
My mind has always been a problem for me. My Mom calls me a thinker. One of my former boyfriends used to call me analytical.
The truth is
that I am addicted to worry and obsessive thought. I've struggled with
a generalized anxiety disorder and an obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Both of which started in my mind.
Growing up, I
remember having routines. I thought that if I just completed my
routines that everything would be fine, that nothing bad would happen.
If bad still
did, I thought it was because I didn't do enough. I didn't do my
routines enough. Typical behavior for one with obsessive-compulsive
disorder.
But the
obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorder didn't become my
entire life until I had what Mark Chironna calls a NDE, or a near-death
experience.
I developed a
kidney stone when I was twenty-three. I drank a total of eighty ounces
of water in one hour in an attempt to pass the stone.
I depleted my
electrolytes--my potassium and sodium levels. I couldn't walk. I
couldn't talk. My organs weren't functioning properly.
My Mom and
grandfather rushed me to the doctor. I sat there listening to the
conversation, but I became frustrated when I talked, and they couldn't
hear me.
I slipped into
an unconscious state, where I almost died. I didn't because my Mom was
praying. She wouldn't let up until she knew I was okay.
That's when the
battle in my mind intensified. God and I have been taking territory
back from the devil over the past few years, but we still have a ways
to go.
The Bible tells
us that anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God need
to be brought into captivity to the obedience of the God (2 Corinthians
10:5).
We do this by
making God and His Word bigger in our lives than our fears, our
anxieties, our problems. We do this by meditating on the Word.
Speaking it over our lives, thinking about it, studying it, listening
to it, talking about it.
We must make
God's Word higher and bigger in our minds than our mountain of despairs
and troubles. Then we can defeat the mountains in our mind.

Have A Seat
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: ~ Ephesians 2:6 (KJV).
We have been
raised up with Christ in heavenly places. Our true position is not
here on earth. We have been crucified with Christ. We are seated with
Christ. The next time the devil tries to harass us we need to
remember where we are seated and Who is seated there with us.

Be Quiet
For thus saith
the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be
saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye
would not. ~ Isaiah 30:15
Your strength
comes from being in quietness. It doesn't come from being in panic or
in terror or in getting upset. Our strength in God comes about when we
become quiet before Him, when we let Him work on our behalf. It is
when we leave our problems in His hands, and have confidence in Him,
that He will come through for us.

Who Is The Author Of Confusion?
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. ~ 1 Corinthians 14:33.
I once met a
prophetess who would tell me God said one thing. Then a week or so
later, she would say God said something that seemed to contradict the
first thing. She brought confusion to everyone who hung around her and
called it God. God isn't the author of confusion. This is one of the
ways we can discern between those people who are speaking for God and
those who aren't.

Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. ~ Joel 1:3 (KJV).
We must teach

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18
We need to give
thanks in everything. Not for our problems but for what our God will
do on our behalf. Our God is bigger than any problem we may have, but
many times we act as if our problems are bigger than our God. Find
something in every situation for which to be thankful.

Our Unfaithfulness
I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from [Israel]. ~ Hosea 14:4 (AMP)
God
will heal our unfaithfulness. We, unlike God, are not faithful
one-hundred percent of the time. We try to be faithful to God and His
Word, but we, as human beings, fail from time to time. God promises to
heal our unfaithfulness because He is faithful even when we are not.

In Our Muck And Mire
If You, Lord, should keep account of and treat [us according to our] sins, O Lord, who could stand? ~ Psalm 130:3.
I have done some things in the past that I am not proud of. I'm sure we all have.
Aren't you glad that God doesn't treat us according to our sins?
Why doesn't He
treat us according to our sins? Because even though, we sinned, He
loved us enough to send His Son--His blameless, sinless, Son--to be a
sacrifice for us. He took on Himself our sins--past, present, and yes,
even our future sins.
We are in right-standing with God because of it.
What does that
mean? It means that Jesus' shed blood puts us in right-standing with
God. We did nothing to earn it. In fact, we could not be good enough
or do enough to earn us that position. Only Jesus' shed blood puts us
there.
When God sees us, He doesn't see our laundry list of sins. He sees Jesus' shed blood that covers us.
God loves us
enough to forgive us. Shouldn't we do the same to those in our lives?
Shouldn't we have the same compassion that God does for us?
We are supposed
to be imitating God, and if God can forgive us in our muck and mire,
then we should attempt to do the same thing.
Forgiveness is
not a feeling. It is a decision. It is a choice. When you forgive
others, you have to forgive them by faith. Make that decision. Your
feelings will catch up with your decision eventually.
We must be like
our God. We must forgive. That doesn't mean that we have to continue
in that situation and let the person abuse us. No, we don't have to be
abused, but we must forgive. You might want to pray for them until
your feelings of resentment and hurt disappear. To imitate, God we
must forgive.

Become A Student
But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your

I think that we
should become students of the Holy Spirit. He knows all things.
Things that we need to know, such as how to market our businesses or
how to love ourselves. We need to give Him permission to be our
teacher, our mentor. Not only about the practical subjects but about
everything He wants us to know.

On High Alert
Remember ye not
the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will
do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will
even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. ~ Isaiah
43:18-19.
We are not to
dwell on the former things in our lives. Those things that have
already passed are gone. There is nothing we can do about those things
now. Our focus has to be on God and what He has in store for our
lives. We need to be on high alert to watch for the new things He is
wanting to do for us. So many times we want to stay with the old, the
comfortable, but we have to be willing to experience the new. Without
it, we will remain stagnant, in the same place year after year.

"God, I don't think you made me right, "God, I don't like what you are

Do You Doubt Your Salvation?
"I accepted Jesus into my heart when I was younger, but if I died
tonight, I don't know if I would go to heaven," a friend of mine wrote
when she instant messaged me awhile back.
Unfortunately, each of us have felt this way at one time or another. I know, I have.
One day, the devil kept whispering in my ear, "You aren't saved. God
doesn't talk to you like He talks to Joyce Meyer or Benny Hinn. He
doesn't do things for you like He does for Marilyn Hickey."
At first, I tried to resist, but the more I thought about it, the more doubt seeped in.
The question of not being saved tormented my mind. As hard as I tried,
I couldn't think of anything else. I decided to do something about
it.
I picked up the phone and called my local Trinity Broadcasting Network
station, praying a prayer partner would be down there. Within seconds,
I was connected with a mild-mannered woman.
She listened carefully as I told her the problem.
After an agonizing moment of silence, she said, "I've had that problem myself, and let me tell you what God told me."
I couldn't wait to find out what God told her. Maybe it was the
lifeline I needed to keep me from drowning in this ocean of torment.
She continued, "The devil is a liar, so the only reason he would tell you that you aren't saved is because you are."
A two-hundred pound weight seemed to be lifted off my shoulders. My mind suddenly became clear.
Revelations 12:9 says , "Satan, which deceiveth the whole world..."
John 8:44 also notes that satan has "no truth in him. When he speaketh
a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
You may be thinking "How do we know that it is satan that is tormenting us?"
Are you full of doubt, fear and confusion? Are you restless and
feeling condemned? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions,
more likely than not the devil has been speaking lies to your mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 explains "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
1 John 4:18 reminds us "There is no fear in love; but perfect love
casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not
made perfect in love."
When we are afraid of where we will spend eternity, fear's twin brother doubt moves into our minds as well.
"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is
like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed," states James
1:6.
I know when I am being tormented by the devil, I feel like I am on a
ship in very choppy waters, the wind blowing hard. I am being tossed
from the left side of the boat to the right and back again. If I don't
make the boat stop, I will become sea-sick.
When we are harassed in our minds, we are not experiencing the peace
that God gave us in John 14:27. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I
give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your
heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
One of God's Names is Jehovah-Shalom, which most people translate to
mean the God of Peace. More specifically, though, the word Shalom
means nothing missing, nothing broken.
That's the way God wants your life to be--nothing missing, nothing broken.
But how can you have that peace, that assurance, if you doubt whether you are saved or not?
Let's see, what the Word has to say.
John 6:44 assures us, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:"
If that is true, then the fact that you accepted Jesus into your heart in the first place means God drew you to Himself.
No man can pluck you out of His hand. If you flew to the far side of
the sea or the remotest part of the world, the Lord's hand would still
be upon you.
Sometimes even knowing this doesn't help us to feel better.
Although your spirit became saved when you asked Jesus into your heart, your soul--your mind, will and emotions--didn't.
Romans 12:2 instructs us to renew our minds.
We renew it by "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that
exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians
10:5).
When the devil whispers in your ear, "You aren't saved," grab your
Bible and say, "Devil, the Word of God says that you are a liar.
Therefore, if you say I am not saved then I must be saved."
You are replacing the negative thoughts the devil planted in your mind with the truth--the Word of God.
You may not feel saved, especially if you have sinned, but your
feelings are not an accurate judge of what is going on around you.
Have you ever had a teacher who was tough on you, and you were
convinced that he was out to get you? Then you found out that the
teacher didn't hate you but was trying to bring out your potential? In
that case, your feelings weren't telling you the truth, were they?
If you have sinned, 1 John 1:9 gives us the solution: "If we confess
our sins, he [God] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
There is nothing you can do that God won't forgive you for because
Psalm 103:3 tells us "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities..." All, not
some.
If you've walked away from God or the devil is continuing to torment
your mind, give him a one-two punch by re-dedicating your life to
Christ.
If any man comes to Christ, He will in no way cast him or her out.
Romans 10:9-10 instructs us "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, that he was
beaten and bruised for every sin you have committed or will commit?
That He was raised from the dead three days later? If so, then pray
this prayer aloud:
"Heavenly Father, I believe in my heart that Jesus died on the cross
for all my sins. I believe He was raised from the dead. I confess Him
as Lord. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From
this day forward, I will follow you all the days of my life. Thank
You, Father. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
If you prayed that prayer, let me know.
You are now a part of God's family. And there are no illegitimate children in His family.
The devil is a liar. If he says you aren't saved, then you must be a
Born-Again Believer. Don't let the devil talk you out of your
salvation. Hit him with the Word.

Obtain A Sound And Well-Disciplined Mind
My mind has
always been my downfall. I remember times long ago (well, not that
long ago! I am only thirty-four!). Words that I said. Lies I told.
Things that I did. I repented of them. Jesus had covered them under
His blood.
Jesus may have
forgotten, but I haven’t. It is those things that the devil likes to
bring up to me. If I listen long enough without countering his lies
with the Word, I start to dwell on those events.
satan is the
accuser of the brethren (Revelations 12:10). He wants to bring up as
much of your past as he can. He wants you to believe that you haven’t
changed, that you are still the same person you were before God saved
you.
As long as you believe it, you will be held back from achieving all that God has called you to do.
I am not the
same person and either are you. God, from the time we are saved until
the present moment, is all the while at work in us. He is changing us
from glory to glory. We are changing. Even though it might not seem
like it, we are changing.
“I have blotted
out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” - Isaiah 44:22.
When you repent, God blots out your sins of His book. The Bible says He remembers them no more (Hebrews 10:17).
If you’ve repented of the sin, and God forgets it, then it cannot be Him accusing you of the sin. It has to be the devil.
The only thing
you can do when this happens is to take heed of James 4:7, which tells
us to “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you.”
Make sure you
surrender yourself to God. You must yield to His Holy Spirit and His
ways. Then stand firm and resist the devil. We do this by countering
every false accusation he makes against us with the Word. Not once
but every time he makes an accusation. Then and only then will be flee.
You must be
consistent. If you are, you will find that you will break down satan’s
strongholds in your mind. You will be on your way to a sound,
well-disciplined mind (2 Timothy 2:7 AMP).

Announcing...A New Arrival
For a dream comes with much business and painful effort, and a fool's voice with many words. ~ Ecclesiastes 5:3 (AMP).
Have you ever
had a dream that seemed long in coming? A dream that you toiled and
worked at, but nothing seemed to happen? This verse tells us that
dreams come with much business and painful effort. A mother when she
gives birth to her baby after enduring the discomfort of pregnancy and
the trauma of labor doesn't remember all the pain, only the joy of her
new child. Just as that mother, when you birth your dream, when you
see the fruition of it, you won't remember the pain, only the joy of
the new arrival in your life.

Unexpected Turns
I have always been drawn to the story of Joseph in Genesis 39.
Have you ever
been rejected by your family? I have. I’m considered one of the
oddballs among by relatives. I am the dreamer. Just like Joseph, I
have had dreams that have predicted the future.
Joseph’s life
took an unexpected turn. His brothers sold him into slavery. My life,
as well as the lives of many of you, have taken those unexpected turns.
Maybe your
fiancé of many years suddenly breaks up with you for someone else.
Perhaps you are rejected by the college you dreamed of attending since
you were little. Or your husband dies.
Life is full of twists and turns. The same things we enjoy in movies and novels, we hate in real life.
Then it looked
like everything was going well. Joseph had been promoted to Potipher’s
second-in-charge. Joseph probably thought, “Power. Prestige.
Responsibility. I can get use to this.”
Potipher’s wife,
though, wanted Joseph all to herself. He refused to lie with her. As
he ran away, she ripped his garment. She told her husband that he had
raped her, providing the ripped garment as evidence. Potipher promptly
threw Joseph in prison. Another unexpected turn.
We all know the
rest of the story. Eventually, through interpreting the dreams of his
cell-mates--the baker and the butler--and Pharaoh’s, Joseph rose to be
the second-in-charge of Egypt.
The unexpected turns in our lives are what propel us forward. Those are the events that define us.
How we react,
what we do in those situations reflect who we really are. If we don’t
react well, we need to work on our character more. If we do, we need
to be grateful that we have the strength to overcome.
In those times
when we are blind-sided by life’s unexpected turns, we need to keep our
chins up. We must stay positive and expect God to come through for us.
It’s only when
we stop limiting God, telling Him what He can and cannot do, what He
will and will not do, in our lives that we see Him do the miraculous.
That’s when we see God come through for us like never before.

Only A Promotion
He will swallow
up death [in victory; He will abolish death forever]. And the Lord God

Here God is
clearly foreshadowing His Son's death. Jesus has swallowed death in
victory. Instead of dying and being gone, as in ceasing to exist, for
us Believers, death is only a promotion into Heaven. We no longer die
spiritually. So death really has lost its sting for those who believe.

We need to wait
on God. We need to expect Him. We need to look for Him. In return,
He will give us His victory; His favor; His love; His peace; His joy;

Heaven, your only required job is to believe in the One God sent. That
is Jesus. Yes, we should read the Bible, obey and do good, but first,
we must believe in Jesus. Every aspect of the Christian walk requires
us to believe--in Jesus and in His promises in the Word.

Just As Jesus Did
So Jesus
explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He
does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the
Son also does. ~ John 5:19 (NLT).
Just as Jesus
did what the Father did, we also should imitate our Heavenly Father.
Those things that we see Jesus doing in the Bible--ministering to
others, standing up for what is right, being a blessing everywhere He
went--we should make a conscious effort to do too. We should copy His
behavior.

Dare To Ask
Every day I do
what I call a prayer walk. I walk around my bedroom, and I pray. I
have a formula that I follow. I don't repeat the same prayer. No, I
use the formula as a guideline. It is similar to the one found in
Matthew 6.
At the end, I
sit down and listen for God to speak. For me, lately, He has been
repeating a phrase over and over in my spirit. One day it was "Only
believe." The next day it was "Have faith." Yesterday, it was "Dare
to ask."
He will do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or think if we dare to ask.
Most of us are
taught that we are bothering God when we bring our requests to Him. We
are taught that it is selfish to pray for our own needs. If we do, we
must only pray for our spiritual needs and not our physical ones.
God tells us,
though, that we, because of the shed blood of Jesus, can come boldly
before His throne of grace and find mercy and grace in our time of need
(Hebrews 4:16).
I'm not suggesting that we dare to ask for anything apart from God's will. That would be foolish, and we wouldn't receive it.
No, I'm talking
about daring to ask Him to do more with our lives. Daring to ask Him
to meet our needs "in abundance, to the full, till it overflows"
(Ephesians 3:20 AMP). Daring to ask Him to use us for His Kingdom.
Daring to ask Him to save our neighborhoods and our towns. Daring to
ask Him to heal us and our families.
God wants to
bless us. God wants to pour out His goodness on us. Until we ask Him
to bless us and those around us, we are missing out on a whole lot of
blessings that He could be bestowing upon us.
Bruce Wilkinson
tells a story in his Jabez Prayer book about a man who went to Heaven
after he died. While Peter was giving this man the tour, this man
spotted a door. He asked Peter, "What's behind that door?"
Peter assured him, "You don't want to know."
The man kept
insisting, so Peter relented and opened the door. When Peter did, the
man saw rows and rows of boxes with people's names on them.
Curious, he ran
to find his own. He pulled his open and discovered that inside were
all the blessings God had in store for him that he had never asked
for. Therefore he had never received them. Instead they laid dormant
in a box with his name on it.
True, this story
is a work of fiction, but the concept is still relevant. God does have
blessings in store for each one of us...all we have to do is ask (2
Peter 1:3).
When we are
blessed, we can be a blessing to others. Without being a blessing to
others, God blessing us has not served its purpose.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" (Matthew 7:7)
"...yet ye have not, because ye ask not" (James 4:2).
What do you need God to do for you today? Dare to ask Him today!
