    Father's Day 2007

Paul- My hubby and father of my children

Pictured here, wearing my camera bag and thus bearing my burden, is the wonderful man I married. Paul is a lot like my own father, whom I miss terribly. (my own dear father went Home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2001) He loves his family dearly and would do anything for them. He sacrifices daily for us. He puts all of our needs before his own. It's amazing just how much like my father he is, for not being blood related. He goes to work every day and comes home to us every night. What an amazing thing that is! Need I mention that he also does things like take out the garbage, pick the kids up from dance, read to the kids, play flute for the kids to dance to, spray for spiders, fix the cars, stop for groceries on his way home from work, rub my back, make me coffee nearly every morning, etc...I could go on and on. By the way, I can't even remember the last time I filled my own gas tank. He makes sure I am well provided for. All this he does without a complaint. He also doesn't complain when I get behind on housework when my asthma's been bad, like it has lately. We are so blessed to have him. I thank the Lord every day for such a loving, protecting, caring man to be my husband and the father of our precious daughters.

On Father's Day, I stayed home from church-being exhausted from little sleep and little oxygen. After church, Paul bar-b-qued (he actually wanted to) and the girls made the side dishes. We had a great meal. Paul opened his gifts. Sarah made brownies for dessert. Yum! Of course, I couldn't have any due to my wheat gluten allergy, but they sure smelled yummy! After Paul napped, he and our youngest daughter, Sarah, went four-wheeling. That is fast becoming a yearly tradition, much to my dismay. :0 I like scenic driving, not the scarey kind. Amy enjoyed editing the day away (her Narnia film is almost done!) and my mother and I chatted and I nebulized, again. Overall, it was a very good day! I hope my husband felt honored and appreciated. Here's to you, Paul! And, here's to you dad!

And thanks most of all, to my Heavenly Father who made the ultimate sacrifice of giving His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my/our sin so that if we believe, we too can spend eternity in Heaven with Him. (see Holy Bible-John 3:16) Thank you Lord, for your love, sacrifice. Thank you, too, for my father, father-in-law and my husband-all truly wonderful men in my life! Happy Father's Day!

    The Battle is Over!

Wait a minute, maybe I better back up a bit. My oldest daughter is an aspiring film-maker/director. She's in the middle of filming a spoof on the Narnia movie. Work on the film actually began about a year and a half ago: rewriting the script, making costumes, props, (an arsenal of weapons) story boards, finding places to film (where would the professor's room be? what about a battle field?, etc...) The filming began in January of this year, in freezing cold weather. Well, Wednesday we filmed the battle! Many people came out for it. Considering that most of the actors and actresses can't drive, it was quite a turn out for which we are very greatful. It's a little nerve racking counting on an all volunteer cast and crew. (Our younger daughter did a steller job of playing a part in Aslan's army as well as Mr. Tumnus. She is a great actress and improves with each film-but I'm not biased or anything. he he)

It was very windy and cold (in the 50's) on Wednesday the 6th. of June. It's funny to think that last week we were really concerned about hot weather, (thus the 9-noon shooting time) since it was in the high 90's. The kids did great and Amy did a fabulous job directing and filming and keeping everyone under control. It was a little sad to see most of her weapons destroyed by the time the shoot was a wrap. I know how much time and effort she put into making them. I guess I should no longer be surprised when my aluminum foil and duck tape turn up missing and return in a totally different shape. Homeschooling tends to turn out very creative, resourceful children. It's fun to wonder what they might think of next, and a little scary! he he

Only two more filming days before this movie will be finished filming. The editing has taken place after each filming with the trailers already finished. Let me tell you, they are fabulous! If only she had the access to the right equipment...there'd be no stopping her.

I'm including a few of the still shots I took at the filming. Fun stuff! Can't imagine what it must have been like for the neighbors, whom we forgot to forwarn about the battle. Oops!

    The Battle is over!

    Irish Dance Calendar

I'm thinking of creating an Irish Dance calendar for 2008. Every year we go to the store and hunt for a calendar with Irish Dancers. Well, each year we find Ireland calendars with maybe one dancer in a solo dress, or some dancers in a pub and the rest of it is beautiful scenic Ireland. That's not really what we're looking for, even though I really can appreciate the scenic pictures of Ireland. It's just beautiful. We want 12 full months of Irish Dancing in our calendar, so I am playing with page ideas and trying decide if I should just do a personal one, one to sell to all the families in our dance academy, one for the general public, or all of the above. If I do one for the general public to be submitted to a calendar company, I'll have to get releases for all the kids who will be in the calendar. Shouldn't be a problem. Well, I guess I will pray about this endeavor and see what God would have me do. In the meantime, here's one of the page ideas...by the way, I took these pictures this past weekend at a perfomance we did in a little podunk town near where we live.  It was quite hot, but it was a lot of fun!
