What a great start!
It sounds like you both have some great ideas on a base for content. Your content is key. This is the most important factor for starting your own business online - for both potential customers and Google search engines. We need to please both, as Google will bring new visitors to your websites, and customers will be attracted to what you are offering. More on that later...lets build on your ideas first. Your passion...what you enjoy doing is what you need to be focused on. Not what may be a good sale. Praying that God will open the doors that He wants open, and shutting the doors in your life that he does not want for you, can be very powerful. Be Prepared! You may be quite surprised at what God has in store for you. Remember, He does not think like we do, and He knows All. I am a mother of four children. My husband works full time and goes to school full time as an IT student (web programming). I understand how difficult getting things together, work and my thoughts...lol. I think that both of the readers who commented on gloryfying God through their future websites is very important. We know that we are created to Glorify Him. Just a side note though that I would like to add... Gloryfying God does not nessessarily have to be in a huge display. As a matter of fact... you might not want to make it very obvious... at first. Why?... well, Christians need support, and non Christians need to get saved. If a non Christian lands on a website that has buttons and banners all about Christ, they may not even look at what you have to offer. If your work truly Glorifies God, it will show through. For example, I have one website that is called Our Winning Circle. It is about sweepstakes, deals and frugal living. I had put the Bible online... for all to read, a Christianity & You newsletter feed, daily scripture and so on. My main focus was the deals, freebies and contests. Unfortunately, I lost many members when I added all of my Christian content. My thoughts were, too bad. My website. My God. mmmm... not so fast, I thought later. I transfered a lot of the content over to a new Christian women's website just a few days ago... called... An Excellent Wife :) Why? ... I still offer a clean website at Our Winning Circle, with no scams or bad offers, my forum members remain respectful to each other, and the ads are appropriate for all. I am still carying on the website the Daily Scripture. Now I feel that I am still gloryfing God. But I am not pushing others to be a Christian. I hopefully am leading by example. My thought and challange to you, is there a way you can glorify God through your work both to the world and to the elite?.. Think of the famous artist Thomas Kincade. Take a look at his website... and his ads. He glorifies God and brings Peace with his Gift. I am writing this as thoughts only, I would love to listen to yours....
