Aglow and Burning for the Master!
A daily devotion to uplift and encourage readers in the Lord and His Word.

    Thu, May 31st - 7:36PM

    Psalms 75:1

WE GIVE praise and thanks to You, O God, we praise and give thanks; Your wondrous works declare that Your [a]Name is near and they who invoke Your Name rehearse Your wonders.

    Deuteronomy 12:5

    But you shall seek the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His [a]Name and make His dwelling place, and there shall you come;

    Footnotes:

    1. Deuteronomy 12:5 The "Name" of God is equivalent to His gracious presence in passages such as this one. The place where God puts His Name is the place where the Lord Himself chooses to dwell. When it stands for God's presence at the sanctuary, "Name" is capitalized.

I have often wondered why sometimes Name is capitalized in the Bible. Now I know. I just thought I would share this with you.

God is so wonderful. I can't begin to express how Awesome He is. It's like wanting to paint a picture of something beautiful, even though an artist does their very best, it not quite as good as God's original.

    Have a blessed day!

The Steps of a Good Man!

    Psalms 37:23-27
    23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.KJV
I am so thankful the Lord knows what is best for me. He has laid out a master plan for my life in His Word. All I have to do is read it and ask God to enlighten my heart to receive what He wants to reveal to me.
Praise the Lord I don't have to try to guess or go by the seat of my pants so to speak, I can go to the Father as ask Him to show me how to walk in Him day by day.

May you have a blessed and beautiful day sent to you from our Father.

    Being Taught by The Lord!

    Psalm 27:11 (KJV)

11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Sometimes I want to direct God on how to lead my life. I guess I don't think He is capable of doing as good of a job as I can. However, I find if I get out of the way and trust Him when I pray for direction, He does a much better job of working things out for me than when I interfere.
I need to remember "ALL" things work together for good to them that love God. Romans 8:28a
Even when I can't see the results of trusting Him right at that moment I know deep within my heart that He is with me, leading me and guiding me. The more I seek Him and read His Word, the more His leading me becomes clear. I am amazed at the changes He has worked in me just this year alone. I know it is because I am allowing Him to have full rein of my life.
    Praise His Holy Name.
Blessings on you today as you let the "Master" lead you into all truth.

    My Shepherd!

    Good morning everyone,

    Psalm 23

1 THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

3 He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him--not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.

4 Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

6 Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

I am so thankful that we can go to our Shepherd and not lack any good thing. He gives us rest and renews our energy. He refreshes and restores me. He leads me and guides me (if I allow Him to)He is always with me not matter what I go through. He will sustain me with His unfailing love and bless me beyond measure.

It is difficult for those living in a temperate climate to appreciate, but it was customary in hot climates to anoint the body with oil to protect it from excessive perspiration. When mixed with perfume, the oil imparted a delightfully refreshing and invigorating sensation. Athletes anointed their bodies as a matter of course before running a race. As the body, therefore, anointed with oil was refreshed, invigorated, and better fitted for action, so the Lord would anoint His "sheep" with the Holy Spirit, Whom oil symbolizes, to fit them to engage more freely in His service and run in the way He directs--in heavenly fellowship with Him.

May the Holy Spirit cascade over you today like a great waterfall, so you may splash it all over someone else.

    God Bless you.

God shall supply all your need!

This morning I was thinking about my job or lack thereof and my financial needs, when the Lord brought to my mind Philippians 4:19

I can remember mom quoting this verse several times when she got concerned about her finances.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

After quoting the verse she would get this beautiful smile on her face. She would say "I know that I know". Mom knew that the God she loved with all her being would take care of her. She told me on several occasions she didn't know how, and she didn't need to know the how, she just needed to know he would meet her needs.

I am so thankful I have memories to remind me not only of mom, but it was just like hearing her say everything will be ok. Remember who is your source and who is watching out for you.

If you are going through a difficult time right now, maybe health issues, or finances or whatever, just remember our God is bigger than any problem. He will take care of us.

God Bless you this beautiful day!

Shout with the Voice of Triumph

    Psalm 47:1 (Amplified Bible)

O CLAP your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy!

    Psalm 47:5-7

5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. KJV

This morning the above verses kept going through my mind. The Lord was telling me that I need to shout to Him with the voice of triumph. I need to sing songs of joy! I am tired this morning, not used to late nights and all day services. As I began to shout to the Lord, even if it was only in my mind, so I wouldn't wake up my roommate I was still shouting and singing praise unto my Father, who refreshed me. As we begin to praise him and sing our strength is restored like that of the eagle. Praise the Lord.

As you go about your day today may you begin to sing praises unto your heavenly Father for he is worthy of all praise.

    A Sweet Fragrance

    2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (Amplified Bible)

14 But thanks be to God,
Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,
15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
I was doing my other daily devotional from 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, I glanced across the page and felt this was the scripture to share with you today.
How does our life measure up? Are we being lead in TRIUMPH in Christ or have we forgotten who is in control of our lives. Are we being a witness and sweet smelling savour to the world. Can a non Christian see Christ in us?
Are we being an effective witness for Him?
Are we a sweet fragrance to God; or do we leave a bad smell in his nostrils?
I don't know about you, I want to live my life in the Center of God's will and to abide in Him to the extent that I am sweet smelling to Him and to others.
    Praise the Lord.
    Bless His Holy Name.
Have a great day in the Lord.

    Fear Not!

    Isaiah 41:10 & 13

10 Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.

13 For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!

I am so thankful that God is there to help me walk out of the fear that has been holding me back from sharing Him with others. He is my God. He will strengthen me. He will be your God and strengthen you, as you allow Him to fill your life with Him. He will see us through any difficulty. He will uphold us. He will help us. That makes me excited.

May God fill you with His love, strength and boldness.

    The Dogwood

This morning I was looking at my dogwood and thought about it being used as the wood for the cross of Jesus.
    The Legend of the Dogwood
In Jesus time, the dogwood grew To a stately size and a lovely hue.
'Twas strong & firm it's branches interwoven For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.
Seeing the distress at this use of their wood Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Never again shall the dogwood grow Large enough to be used so
Slender & twisted, it shall be With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember me Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected this tree shall be A reminder to all of my agony."

    Good morning everyone,
It is a cool, rainy morning, but that is ok. Now I don't have to water my flowers or lawn; God did it for me.
I was reading on praise again this morning; I am tired. When I get tired or not feeling well, I like to get my Bible and read the Psalms.  It always lifts me up. Today I would like to share Psalms 95:1-6 with you.

    Psalm 95:1-6

1 O COME, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!

2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!

3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights and strength of the hills are His also.

5 The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker [in reverent praise and supplication].

I have had a lot of things requiring my attention, most of it related to church things and the Lord's work; nevertheless it is busy work. It is easy for me to stay up late (I'm not a night person) and get up early in the mornings, if I'm not careful I neglect my own personal time with the Lord. Which is the most important as that is where my strength comes from.

Last night I was almost done printing the newsletter and ran out of ink. Haven't you been right in the process of doing something and either your equipment breaks down or you run out of something just as you are finishing up? That is the way it is with our Christian walk. When I neglect to refuel myself with the Word and with praise to the Father, I run out of strength to help the next person who might need a smile from me or prayer.

When I take time to mediate on the Word and to offer praises to the Father, He renews my strength, my faith and my relationship with Him.

Today as you go about your busy day, don't forget to Praise the Lord, your whole day will go smoother.

Have a great day in the Lord.

Looking at Jesus with our Heart!

Good morning from beautiful, sunny Joy's place. I look forward each morning in sharing just a word or two with you.
I was going to try to change some of this as I know you don't know Donna, however I'm sure you have felt the same way I did when someone you loved passed away. So when you read this put their name in instead of Donna's if you want to.
Yesterday at Donna's memorial service I thought about all the years I had known her and how special she was to each of us. Some of us knew her better than others, but most of us knew her. Each one of us could tell different things or the same things and they would still come out a little differently, why? because each of us tell what we see and hear a little different, we tell it from our perception.
That is the same way with the Lord. Each of us has a different relationship with Him, and each of us see Him a little differently. That is OK, because that makes each of us an individual and not a clone of each other.
When Donna passed away, I felt bad I didn't take the time to share God with her more. Through talking with people I realized not only did I share the Lord verbally with her, but also by my actions. I know Donna knew the Lord, because when Don was sick and when I got burnt she told me she was praying for me. Donna had a quiet, strong faith to survive as long as she did with the cancer.
Today I want to leave you with this scripture.

    John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
If you haven't asked Jesus into your life it is as simple as
    Admit your need of Him.
Believe He is the Son of God.
Commit your life to Him by asking Him into your heart. Trust Him to do the rest.

Have a great day in the Lord!
    Joy

    The Redeemed of the Lord!

    Isaiah 51:11 (Amplified Bible)

11 [The Lord God says] And the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing to Zion; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
I am so glad I have a Father who not only loves me, but bears with me when I am feeling discouraged or distressed. I don't get that way very often, only when I get busy doing the Martha things and skip being a Mary. I get so busy with the earthly things I sometimes hurry in sitting at the Master's feet and feeding myself from His Word.
I am glad to know I can go to the Word and get encouragement, instruction and peace. The Word of God is like manna from Heaven. It feeds me. I can live my life with joy and gladness, sorrow and sighing will leave when I come before Him with singing.
Have a great day in the Lord.

    OOPS!

I apologize for missing yesterday. I was busy creating the memory folder for Donna's service. It was while I was sitting in church last night I thought about it. By that time it was to late to send one.

I am so thankful for this group and for all the encouragement you give me. You all are such a blessing to me.

    Thank you!

God Bless you is my prayer.

    We are Overcomers!

    Revelation 12:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

11 And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

12 Therefore be glad (exult), O heavens and you that dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in fierce anger (fury), because he knows that he has [only] a short time [left]!

I have been feeling bad the last couple of days as I didn't share with Donna before she passed away the Word. I didn't share with her about Jesus. I didn't ask her if she knew Him. I have known Donna for 18 years, I visited with her about fishing, rock hunting, sewing. etc. I talked about the Lord to her and told her I was praying for her; but to come right out and ask her did she have a personal relationship with Jesus I didn't do. I guess I let fear keep me from sharing with her Jesus. I can't go back and change anything with her. I pray that God will give me boldness to share with whomever He brings across my path the Love of Jesus. I want to be an overcomer by the Blood of the Lamb and share my testimony to lead others to Jesus.

Satan has just a short time left on this earth and I believe he is trying to steal the Christian's testimony. I have decided not to give him that power. I pray the Lord will fill me with boldness so I won't let another opportunity pass by without asking that person if they know Jesus. If they don't I want to be able to pray with them. Do any of you have hesitate to share Jesus with others? How did you overcome your fear? I welcome any comments in how to be an overcomer.

Have a blessed day in the Lord.

    Joy

    I will sing!

    Psalm 89:1-2
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. KJV

This morning as I was doing a family devotional, I kept hearing these verses in my head. I think there is a song about "singing of the mercies of the Lord forever."

Isn't it wonderful to know the Lord and to be able to sing, shout and declare to others not only His mercy, but His love and Faithfulness. I believe that in order for God to be faithfull to us and bless us, we have to be faithfull to Him. We have to verbally make known to others of who God is and bless Him with our whole heart, mind, soul, body and strength. The more I do that the greater His mercy and grace to me becomes. I give Him praise, even when there are hard places for me to walk, I still try to praise Him through it all.

I know that God loves me and takes care of me! Far better than I can even imagine.

I pray you have a blessed day in the Lord.

United together in one body in Prayer!

    Good morning everyone,
It is another beautiful day in the Lord here in Oregon.
I was going to change my devotional to you, however, I felt God wanted me to share this, because even though you may not know my brother Doc or Donna, each of you know or have a love one who has gone home to be with the Lord. Each one of you is a part of the body of Christ, therefore we all walk and work in that body in some form or another.

Yesterday Doc's Donna went home to be with the Lord. Sis and I had the honor and privilege to be with them at Donna's homegoing.
What I want to share with you today is how important we are to each other as a body. The Word says:
    Romans 12:5 (Amplified Bible)
5 So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another].

    1 Corinthians 12:12 (Amplified Bible)
12 For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

God used Ruthie last Friday to cut Donna's hair, in doing so she thought Donna was confused and thought maybe she had a stroke. When Doc took Donna to the doctor, they found that she did in fact have a stroke.
This week as some of us was helping Doc with Donna's care, others were setting up the bed, getting everything pretty at the house so when Donna came home from the hospital everything would be ready; others were gophers, fetching and carrying things as needed to make life easier for Doc and Donna, and their family. Others were used to help at the hospital to get things done there; some have been cooking for the family, some just gave hugs and encouragement. While all of us covered the family in our prayers. We were all in different places and doing different things for the need of Doc and Donna, yet we were all in one body to make things go so smoothly for them. We were united in prayer.
The same thing happens in the body of Christ, there are many members, but each one has a different part to play in the body to bring Glory to the Father.
The thing I learned was no matter who was doing what or where we were, we were all equal in doing what the Lord wanted us to do at any given moment to help Doc and Donna and their family. We were a united body. To me that is really special. It was like at that period of time we were all knit together into one mind concept of praying and supporting the family.
I think it is awesome, and you know what it continues on a daily basis as we uphold each other in prayer and in our hearts.
May we all be united in thoughts and prayers today and every day is my prayer.
Love, hugs and prayers come your way today.
    Joy

Giving Praise to God and not Ourselves!

    Hi Joy,
Giving honour and praise to our Lord is so easy to do - we just have to look outside at the wonderful world He has made. We just have to look inside our hearts at the wonderful love He has shown us. We just have to look at our families and the thanks and praise should come tumbling out of our mouths.
Then why is it so hard for some to give all the praise and honour and glory to Him and not themselves??

I received this comment the other day and thought it a good way to start today's devotional; as this is what the Lord was putting in my heart. First: why is it so hard for some people to give praise to the Lord. Second: Why does some people blame God for all the bad things that happen to them. A lot of time God didn't have anything to do with it. If they aren't blaming God they are giving credit to the enemy of being on their back all the time. Sometimes things happen just because we are human and we make wrong decisions.

Some people have not learned who the I is. They think it is themselves when it should be God. If a person accepts the praise, honour and glory for themselves, at some point they are going to be in for a big fall. It is like they have set themselves up as God and that is a very dangerous situation to be in. I believe in ourself we can do nothing. Therefore when God allows us to be a vessel for His use; all credit should go to Him.

Have a great day in the Lord!

    Joy

    Magnify the Lord

    Psalm 145:17-21 (Amplified Bible)

17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.

19 He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them.

20 The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked will He destroy.

21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord; and let all flesh bless (affectionately and gratefully praise) His holy name forever and ever.

I was reading this passage of scripture this morning; as I was reading I began to really think on what the message God was giving us with these verses.

God is a righteous God. He loves us. He only wants the best for us. He is as close to us as we will let Him be. God does not shove Himself onto us; we have to desire Him to be close to us both in Spirit and in Truth. He does gives us our heart's desires. I will speak of Him where ever I go. I will offer praise with a thankful heart.

Praise His Holy Name! Let us magnify Him together!

    Jesus the Bread of Life!

    John 6:47-51 (Amplified Bible)

47 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, he who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, relies on, and has faith in Me] has (now possesses) eternal life.

48 I am the Bread of Life [that gives life--the Living Bread].

49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and [yet] they died.

50 [But] this is the Bread that comes down from heaven, so that [any]one may eat of it and never die.

51 I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).

I am so thankful to know that Jesus is my bread. When I get into His Word and begin to read the Psalms, The Four Gospels and some of the other verses in the Bible on Prasie, strength, healing, whatever I need, I can find scripture to relate to that need. He says to eat His Word. It is sweeter than honey. It will give you life and substain you.

Today I want to devour the Word. In Psalms 119:11 says "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. I want to be so full of the word that I can withstand against sin and the temptations of this world.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

    His Secret Place

    Good morning everyone,
My heart is heavy this morning as I try to write today's devotional; My brother's companion Donna, is in the hospital. I plan on going to see her today. People get busy with their life and forget to visit others until it is either too late or when they are in the hospital. I can't go back and change the past, however I can begin to change today and the future in visiting or calling others more. I have to remember that Donna as all of us are in God's hands, dwelling in His secret place.
I don't know if Donna is saved. I pray I get the chance to talk to her and if she isn't to lead her to Jesus. The thing I keep asking myself is why I waited so long to do something so important.
    Psalm 91:1-4
1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.
A friend recently shared an article she wrote about "The Secret Place" in it she had this statement; "It is my experience that He will protect not only His children, but anything, no matter how small or insignificant, that we take to the Secret Place in Him. If it is something important to us, it is important to Him."
Today as you go about your day keep Doc and Donna, in your prayers. Ask God to give them strength, physically, spiritually and emotionally; may His quiet peace overflow them.
May God Bless all of you!

What goes into your heart comes out of your mouth!

    Good morning to you!
It is a beautiful day here. I Praise the Lord for it.

    Proverbs 4:20-23 (Amplified Bible)

20 My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.

22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Yesterday in Sunday School class the teacher talked about our heart. What is seeded into the heart is what comes out of the mouth. I began to examine myself to see what kind of stuff I am putting into my heart. Is it Godly things or junk? Do I desire to walk in health and healing? Do I want the blessings of the Lord in my life. Of course I do as I feel all of you do; then we need to heed the scriptures above and realize the words that come out of our mouth comes from the innermost parts of our heart.

To walk in abundance and health, we need to proclaim abundance and health. Our words need to edify the Lord so we can walk in healing and health. Out of our innermost being will flow springs of life.

    Praise the Lord.

Have a super fantastic day in the Lord.

A Doorkeeper in the House of the Lord!

    Psalm 84:9-12 (Amplified Bible)

9 Behold our shield [the king as Your agent], O God, and look upon the face of Your anointed!

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, and that without fear or misgiving]!

I am so thankful I know the Lord and that He knows me. I am learning what it means to be annointed. When we have the annointing of God in our life, it makes us able to rebuke the enemy. With the annointing souls are saved. The sick receive their healing. With the annointing comes liberty.

I have spent most of my life in church. I have cleaned the inside and outside of every church I've been involved with; I believe because of my faithfulness in the little things, God is now moving me up to bigger things. I am so excited about what God is doing in my life. I find the closer I get to Him the more I feel the annointing.

I am learning to completely trust in the Lord. When I trust God with every fiber of my being, then He is able to do the work in me and things for me. When I trust God completely then He is able to do for me all He has promised. If I don't trust Him completely, then I tie His hands on giving me all I need. I'm not talking as much about material things (although that is a big thing with God); I am talking also about Spiritual growth.

Have a great day in the Lord.

    Joy

    Praising God All Day Long!

    Psalm 35:28 (Amplified Bible)

And my tongue shall talk of Your righteousness, rightness, and justice, and of [my reasons for] Your praise all the day long.
I was reading this verse this morning and began to examine myself, are the words out of my mouth each day in praise to the Lord? Do I talk of His mercy, goodness, grace and love to those around me? Do I let them see Christ in me? Do I praise the Lord enough that they would desire what I have in my life? Today as I go about my day I want to focus on the Lord. I want to testify of His love, that He is able to meet all my needs. My prayer is Lord make me more like you.
How does your tongue talk? Do you proclaim Jesus or do you curse and  complain?
What kind of Jesus do we represent?
Have a Blessed Day in the Lord.

    Jesus is with us Alway!

    Matthew 28:20 (Amplified Bible)

Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).
Today as I drove to a meeting about 3 hours away, I was listening to a song on a CD. I think the title was "Greater is He that is within you" anyway it said in the song when youv'e lost someone how can you be lonely when you are not alone. I've heard this song several times as a lady in our church sings it quite often; hovever it finally sank in today that when we absolutely trust the Lord then we should be able to overcome anything.
I realized since my husband passed away last March that I was only lonely until I began to immerse myself in the Word and in Jesus. He filled that lonely spot. I am amazed at how alive I feel. If you are going through some rough times try filling youself more with the Word and ask God to make Himself alive in you and watch what happens.
    Praise the Lord
I count myself blessed to be able to share with all of you and to read the words God gives you to share. What a ministry.
    God Bless You!

    Marriage and sanctification

    Eph 5:23-28

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

    25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
    KJV

This may seem like a weird set of scriptures to use today, however bear with me and you will see why I used these.

I am a widow. My husband died March 9, 2006. He was a "sort of" a "Christian" although he was not faithful to our marriage. He did however committ his life completely to Jesus several months before God took him home.

Now that I am a widow I am amazed at how many "christian men" have talked to me and let me know they cheated on their wives. Some of them are ministers.

I have had several people tell me I need to get married to a "Godly man" and experience and know what a real, loving marriage is. My question; is there such a thing as a "Godly marriage" where the husband really knows the Word of God, loves God enough to stay santified and faithful to his wife?

The above scriptures would say it is possible. What do you think? Have "christians" (even ministers) become so complacent with the things of the world that they no longer hold the things of God including marriage sacred.

I know this is deep, however there may be other "christian widows" who are asking the same question; are there "Godly men" out there who would put God first and be faithful in their marriage.

May you have a most blessed day in the Lord.

    Joy

What words come out of your mouth?

    Psalm 19:14 (Amplified Bible)

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer.
    Matthew 12:34b
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
    Proverbs 18:21a
    Death and life are in the power of the tongue;
What words are coming out of your mouth? Do you speak life and health into your mind and body? Are you speaking death to yourself? Are you speaking financial blessings or ruin? What words come out of your mouth? Words of praise or cursing? I am trying to watch the words that come out of my mouth. I want them to be uplifting and encouraging not only to others, but to myself. I want to walk in the fullness of all the blessings God has for me; however, I can't do that if I am always complaining and feeling sorry for myself. I keep reminding myself to speak positive words not negative ones. I am trying to take the words "I Can't" out of my vocabulary.
The Word says "I can do ALL things through Christ (in him) which strengtheneth me.
    Philippians 4:13
As I begin this week my prayer is Lord help he to be a praiser and not a complainer.
Have a great and blessed day in the Lord.
    Joy

    Forgetting the Past

This morning I was listening to a sermon by Joel Osteen on "Letting go of the Past". Joel said "The more you dwell on the disappointments, the more you block God's blessings in your life". To receive God's mercy you have to receive God's forgiveness; or you can never go on with your life.
In thinking about Joel's comments the following verses came to mind:

    Hebrews 12:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

1 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

I find in my life that as I try to walk closer to the Lord, the more unnecessary things in my life has to go to make room for HIM!

Jesus is the source of my FAITH! He is the joy of my life. He is doing a work in me and I pray He is doing a work in your life as well. I am so excited about all the things God is doing in my life. Sometimes I stand in awe of WHO HE IS and that He feels I am worthy to be one of HIS!

May the Lord God of our Fathers Bless and Keep You Today!

    Joy
