    Mark 4:39; Job 8:14-15

    Mark 4:39 King James Version (KJV)

    39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

    Mark 4:39 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

    39 Jesus got up and ordered the wind and the waves to be quiet. The wind stopped, and everything was calm.

    Job 8:14-15 King James Version (KJV)

    14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

    15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

    Job 8:14-15 Good News Translation (GNT)

    14 They trust a thread—a spider's web.
    15  If they lean on a web, will it hold them up?
     If they grab for a thread, will it help them stand?”

    14 We are to put our trust in God because if it is not in Him then it will go this way then that way changing time and time again and end up looking like a spiders web but if we trust in the Lord then it looks like a straight line because He won’t let us down.

    15 Trusting the wrong things in life lead us to be stuck somewhere that we should not be it may cause us to be trapped. Our mistrust causing us to fall into a deep pit but the Lord will bring up high by His grace.

    Keep our eyes on Jesus.

    Mark 4:38 King James Version (KJV)

    38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

    Mark 4:38 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

    38 Jesus was in the back of the boat with his head on a pillow, and he was asleep. His disciples woke him and said, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re about to drown?”

    These are my thoughts.

    The Lord cares even if it does not seem like it to us, we don’t have to wonder this.

    Job 8:13King James Version (KJV)

    13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

    Job 8:13Good News Translation (GNT)

    13 Godless people are like those reeds;
     their hope is gone, once God is forgotten.

    People without God may grow but are truly dead, the growth may happen but they still will face the death without Him. Without the Lord there is no true hope any hope they may look to is temporary it may pass away just at the time of the death but it could before hand but regardless the Lord is hope for the hope less. We should never forget who God is, this can happen to even us as Christians during our times of struggle we often times forget God is bigger then what we go thru, the world does not who God is because if they did they would follow Him.

    Mark 4:37 King James Version (KJV)

    37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

    Mark 4:37 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

    37 Suddenly a windstorm struck the lake. Waves started splashing into the boat, and it was about to sink.

    These are my thoughts.

    We will go thru troubles even if Jesus is with us.

    Job 8:11-12 King James Version (KJV)

    11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

    12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

    Job 8:11-12 Good News Translation (GNT)

    11 “Reeds can't grow where there is no water;
     they are never found outside a swamp.
    12 If the water dries up, they are the first to wither,
     while still too small to be cut and used.

    11 Reeds grow where there is much water not just little, reeds often show that a water source is need; it is a joy for people to find reeds in the desert because this meant they found a resting place with water. Reeds grow in any type of water they are very common in a swamp or swampy like water, they grow biggest.

    12 The reeds die without water but by the water they grow up big; Jesus is our water source for our growth without Him we are dried up and can not grow, nothing but to have Him cut us down.

    Mark 4:28; Job 8:8-10

    Mark 4:28 King James Version (KJV)

    28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

    Mark 4:28 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

    28 It is the ground that makes the seeds sprout and grow into plants that produce grain.

    These are my thoughts.

    We grow by Faith, faith in Him is where we are to be grounded.

    Job 8:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

    For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

    (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

    10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

    Job 8:8-10 Good News Translation (GNT)

    Look for a moment at ancient wisdom;
     consider the truths our ancestors learned.
    Our life is short, we know nothing at all;
     we pass like shadows across the earth.
    10 But let the ancient wise people teach you;
     listen to what they had to say:

    8 This was probably all they had at the time to rely on, there was no scripture, and they of course could have heard the story of creation and Babel and the flood. Just because someone older said it a long time ago does not mean it is true, the truth that matters most is found in the word.

    9 Life is short scripture expresses this in Solomon’s books. We truly do not have a full understanding; we are limited to what we can learn. This does not mean we are not valued because we are valued enough that Christ died for us.

    10 It is wise to listen to what others say but foolish to follow after everything you hear you have to use discernment.
