NOTES PART 4
IT IS
FINISHED: Jhn 19:30
When Jesus therefore had
received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he
bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Brothers
and sisters, our Lord Jesus was tested, tried and proven by God the Father as a
man and as God the Son as no one else on earth has ever been tested. Lord Jesus
with His last breath in undying love spoke His final words on the cross in victory to God
the Father and for all men “it is finished’.
Lord
Jesus’ sinless life took away our curse, fulfilled all the Messianic prophecies
and promises regarding Him, and ripped completely open the holy of holies veil curtain
that had separated sinful men from God on pain of death and by Himself opened the
door of eternal and
permanent redemption
and the permanent eternal
forgiveness of all sins for whomsoever will believe in Him.
Lord
Jesus rose from the dead never to die ever again. By the will of God the Father,
Jesus God the Son received all power and authority-unlimited, inextinguishable,
unbeatable, and unconquerable whereby He abolished death, trampled the devil
with all his demonic hosts, and took possession forever of the keys of hell and
death and established the New Covenant forever.
Therefore,
God the Father has exalted Jesus God the Son of God above every name in heaven and in earth:
Phl 2:9
Wherefore God also hath
highly exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every name:
Phl 2:10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth;
Phl 2:11
And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father
Let us
priests and family of God honor the Son even as we honor the Father giving our
offerings of fervent love, worship, thanks and praises to His holy name
continually: Jhn
5:23
That all men should honour the
Son, even as they honour the Father. He that
honoureth not the Son honoureth not the
Father which hath sent him.
While
we can and do study the Bible in its parts, we must take time to read it as whole so that we
will understand, live and share it within the context of the whole of scripture
as God commands to avoid confusion and misleading others in the gospel.
God is
not the author of confusion: 1Co 14:33
For God is not the
author of confusion, but of
peace, as in all churches of
the saints.
Jas 3:16
For where envying and strife is,
there is confusion and every evil work.
We
know, brothers and sister, that despite John the Baptist teaching that he was
not the Christ and that His ministry would end at the atonement of Christ; and
even Lord Jesus’ own absolute eternal declaration:
Jhn 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he
that believeth not the
Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Jhn 14:6
Jesus saith unto
him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
We still have some today claiming salvation
by the water baptism of John the Baptist and calling themselves “Baptist” and
followers of the “Baptist doctrine”, and/or combining elements of it with salvation
such as constantly confessing sins to avoid losing it and being lost forever. I
can’t save anyone, neither can you, holy people, neither could John the Baptist,
the apostles or for that fact no mere human being, denomination, institution, organization,
or doctrine of mere men or any angels purported or otherwise.
God will not negotiate, cherry pick, cut
a deal, allow alternatives-adding to or subtracting from His word, nor make any
excuses for those who reject His salvation through Jesus Christ alone:
Jhn 10:9
I am the door: by me if any
man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go
in and out, and find pasture.
What
happened to John the Baptists disciples after his death? We know from scripture,
dearly beloveds, that before John’s death some of John’s disciples encouraged
by John became followers of Lord Jesus: Jhn 1:35-41. We know we can search the
scriptures to see what is recorded about certain of John the Baptist's disciples
after his death: Act 19:1
And it
came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having
passed through the
upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2
He
said unto them, Have ye received the
Holy Ghost since ye BELIEVED? And they
said unto him, We have not so much
as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Why
Paul asked this is clear because John Baptist had preached salvation through
Christ, which those who believed in would be saved and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,
and these certain disciples never heard of the Holy Ghost.
Act 19:3
And he
said unto them, Unto what then were ye
baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Here we
know, brothers and sisters that these certain disciples had received a perverted
doctrine that left out the truth that salvation can only be given through faith
in Jesus Christ after which believers receive the Holy Ghost.
We
clearly recognize/comprehensively understand that if any believes that they are saved through water
baptism, constant confession of sin to be saved and/or avoid loss of it or any
other methods or doctrine besides Christ alone, they just got wet, because at
the coming of Christ God abolished John the Baptist ministry it was designed for
preparation, and now no longer needed in the face of Christ who alone saves.
If confession
of sin or the constant confession of it saves, and prevents loss of salvation, brethren,
more than a few of us are doomed because many of us forget why we went to the refrigerator
for something, and more than a few of us can’t remember in any detail what we did
yesterday.
Act 19:4
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with
the baptism of repentance, saying unto the
people, that they should believe on him which should
come after him, that
is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5
When they
heard this, they were baptized in the name of the
Lord Jesus.
They
were baptized in the NAME OF JESUS AS GOD COMMANDS: Mat 28:19
Go
ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Eph 3:14
For
this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Pe 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the
mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:5
Likewise, ye
younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be
subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the
proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Mat 23:12
And whosoever shall
exalt himself shall be abased; and he that
shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Brothers
and sisters, beloved of God, called to be saints (Ro 1: 7), ambassadors of
Christ, and able ministers of the Gospel, we know that we can never lose our
inheritance for it is the gift of God not earned. Let us get our full reward as
God has promised to those who obey Him out of love and trust and bring the
message of salvation to a lost and dying world, and doing all the good that we
can because we are not only called
by God but through Lord Jesus, anointed with the Holy Ghost and sent by Him also into the
world: Rom 10:14
How then shall they call
on him
in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe
in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher?
Rom 10:15
And how shall they
preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad
tidings of good things!
1Co 3:8
Now he
that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his
own reward according to
his own labour.
Let us,
dearly beloveds, obediently minister the word to one another in teaching, encouragement,
and admonition that we should strengthen the weak and sharpen the strong, while
also sharing the Word of God in the world that all who hear and believe will be
saved, as God commands.
Praise
God for the multitude of servant officers of the church who understand that
believers do not automatically know scripture or how to live holy lives and
must be taught the gospel and how to live God’s way and witness in the world.
However,
we must speak the truth in love, we know that amongst the multitudes of
faithful servant officers that there are some servant officers who are slothful
and so poorly value teaching the word of God that the saints G40 hagios, are
spiritually starved and grow poorly spiritually.
Some signs
of a starved church are no, or few ministries develop, no witnessing, isolated to its own congregation, little to
no care of spiritual and/or practical support of the flock. The sick might get
a get-well card and a quick prayer as well as those who have practical need of
help. Some of these churches close down at the passing of the servant officers,
and/or the sheep flee to other churches where they will be fed.
However,
in some churches God raises up someone within or brings someone in who will
preach the gospel: Jer 3:15
And I
will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with
knowledge and understanding.
The
duties of the servant officers are clearly laid out and commanded by Lord Jesus
Christ our eternal High Priest and Head of the Church throughout scripture: Act 20:28
Take
heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the
flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath
made you overseers, to feed the church of
God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Jhn 21:7; Jer 23:4; 1Pe 5:2; Rev 7:17.
Dearly
beloveds, again, we have to speak the truth in love, and we must give warning
as God commands that although these derelict serving officers will not lose
their salvation, Jesus can remove them from their ministry, but they can remain
amongst the flock, this has happened in the past and it still happens today: Heb 12:6
For whom the
Lord loveth he
chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he
receiveth.
Any believer who is slothful in service will lose their reward although
they will not lose their inheritance as this is the gift of God and is not
earned: 1Co 3:14
If any
man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he
shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15
If any
man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall
be saved; yet so as by fire.
Suffer
loss-loss of reward never salvation.
CHRISTIANS
WILL NEVER BE JUDGED WITH THE WORLD:
1
Corinthians 11:32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the
world. Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are
being disciplined
so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.
Heb 12:6
For whom the
Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he
receiveth.
God is
no respecter of persons, and no one is above church discipline:
1Ti 5:19Against an
elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
1Ti 5:20
Them
that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Jesus
by His power and the will of God will bring all Christians home to God. The
quality of the work we did or did not do will be evaluated or judged for a
reward or not: Rom 14:12
So then every one of
us shall give account of himself to
God.
Therefore,
some of us will get a reward and some of us will get a spanking: Luk 12:47-48. However, all of us will receive an
inheritance. Do any of us remember when our mom and/or dad had to chastise us
for being disobedient, and after it was over comforted us, nothing changed in
their demonstration of love and affection for us either before or afterwards?
So it will be in heaven, there will be no one reminding the chastised about the
spanking they got when they came home: Rev 7:17
For the
Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall
feed them, and shall
lead them unto living fountains of
waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Jesus has
given us a great inheritance, everything He has we will have. When Jesus has
subdued every enemy forever, He will submit Himself to God our Father and we
will live in eternal love and bliss with Him and God our Father. We will rule
with Jesus, and sit in His throne with Him, in His throne with God for God will
be all and in all forever: Rev 3:21
To
him that overcometh will I grant to
sit with me in my throne, even as I
also overcame, and am set
down with my Father in his throne.
We
have no need to fear Lord Jesus is faithful and by His power will get all of His people safely
home forever.
1Jo 4:4
Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is
he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1Jo 5:4
For whatsoever is
born of God overcometh the
world: and this is the
victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1Jo 5:5
Who is he
that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Phl 1:6
Being
confident of this very thing, that he which
hath begun a good work in you will
perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
WE
KNOW, HOLY PEOPLE, THAT THE FLOCK OF GOD DOES NOT BELONG TO MAN, NOR
INSTITUTIONS OF ANY KIND, NOR ORGANIZATIONS, DENOMINATIONS, BUT TO JESUS CHRIST
THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH APPOINTED BY GOD: Eph 1:22
And hath
put all things under his feet, and gave him to
be the head over all things to
the church,
Eph 1:23
Which is his body, the
fulness of him that filleth all in all.
No
offense is intended here and if the shoe does not fit there is no need to put
it on. But to whomsoever it does fit I pray they will repent and obey God out
of love and trust in Him and preach the gospel without adding or subtracting
from it as God commands.
John
the Baptist made it clear to the Jews and his disciples that he was the
forerunner of but not the Christ, (Jhn 3:28)
and no
salvation could come from His baptism, which was symbolic of the penitent’s
acknowledgement of their sins in preparation and readiness to receive the
Messiah when He appeared. We have the witness of John: Luk 3:16
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with
water; but one mightier than I cometh, the
latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to
unloose: he shall baptize you with the
Holy Ghost and with fire:
Jhn 1:29 The next
day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of
God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jhn 7:38 He
that believeth on me, as the
scripture hath said, out of his belly shall
flow rivers of living water. Jhn 7:39 (But this spake
he of the Spirit, which they that
believe on him should receive: for the
Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that
Jesus was not yet glorified.) Jhn 14:26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
Father will send in my name, he shall
teach you all things, and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
said unto you. Tools
