    Carried By Christ Too
O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. Psalm 139:1-4

    Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

Luke 17:11-19 tells of when Ten Lepers Were Cleansed

11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Commentary on Bible Gateway regarding these verses: A sense of our spiritual leprosy should make us very humble whenever we draw near to Christ. It is enough to refer ourselves to the compassions of Christ, for they fail not. We may look for God to meet us with mercy, when we are found in the way of obedience. Only one of those who were healed returned to give thanks. It becomes us, like him, to be very humble in thanksgivings, as well as in prayers. Christ noticed the one who thus distinguished himself, he was a Samaritan. The others only got the outward cure, he alone got the spiritual blessing.

Other verses regarding giving thanks to the Lord:

    Colossians 3:17

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

    Hebrews 13:15

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

    Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

    1 Corinthians 12:6

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

Our loving Lord works in our lives in ways that we may not even realize, and it is all for His glory.

    Proverbs 3:3

    Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
    Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart

    Obedience and faith.

In the way of believing obedience to God's commandments health and peace may be enjoyed. Our days may not be long upon this planet, but because of our faith we shall live forever in heaven. Regarding God's mercy in promising, and his truth in performing: live up to them, keep up thine interest in them, and take the comfort of them. We must trust in the Lord with all our hearts, believing he is able and wise to do what is best.

    Nehemiah 9:17

The refused to listen and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they rebelled and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt! But you are a God of forgiveness, garcious and merciful, slow to become angry, and full of unfailing love and mercy. You did not abandon them.

How often are we disobedient and forget all that the Lord has done for us in our lives? How often are we rebellious and allow ourselves to fall back into the slavery of sin? Yet, even then, our Lord forgives us, and during our hardest times (which we brought upon ourselves in most cases) He carries us. At our lowest times, when we wonder if the Lord is even there, it is then that we are Carried by Christ.

    Isaiah 43:2

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

When we are in the middle of our most difficult moments, we are Carried By Christ.
