    Words!

    Prov 15:4
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. KJV

Gentle words cause life and health; griping brings discouragement. TLB

I have been thinking a lot lately about the words that come out of my mouth. My Sunday school teacher has been talking about whether we are a "thermostat or a thermometer” Do we regulate our actions or do we blow up at every little thing? Does what we say build someone up or tear them down?

I came across the above verse Sunday after church. It really spoke to my heart on things I was saying that could bring illness into my life instead of health. I asked God to forgive me and make me more aware of the words I speak.

My words and my character should glorify God. I heard a lady make a comment the other day that raised awareness in me about salvation. She said “when a person gets saved, they take on the characteristics of God.” Therefore if I am made in the image of God then I should try my best to act and talk like He would. The only way I can do that is to KNOW HIM.

I begin to know Him thru prayer and getting into His Word, and from the messages of other faith believing Christians.

    The Little Foxes!

    Greetings,

It is a wonderful, frosty morning here on the farm. I don't know what today holds for me, however yesterday was an interesting day. I inadvertently put some liquid dish soap into my dishwasher thinking it was dishwasher detergent. Took me almost 3 hours to get out all the soapsuds. Now I could have yelled, said some bad words and other things, however I chose to keep a pleasant attitude. In fact I used that time to visit with the Lord.

I kept thinking about the verse in the Bible of the little foxes that destroy the tender grapes.

Song of Solomon 2:15 (King James Version)

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Sometimes it seems to me it is the little foxes that strive to get me upset. I seem to handle the major things more, but then I think that usually it's not one little thing, but several bunched together that begins to wear on me. If I can take them one at a time and think what to do or ask God to help me I don't seem to get a weary.

For some people I think it's the little things all coming at them at once that causes them to act the way they do. To begin to question if God is really real. To begin to doubt, thus causing them to begin to slip away from their belief in the Lord. Watch for the little foxes and destroy them before they try to spoil your relationship with Jesus.

Remember Jesus is your load bearer. He will see you through. He is ever faithful. He is ever true. He is ever worthy to be praised, no matter what!

    God Bless!

    Joy

    Satisfy the Weary Soul!

    Good morning,

It is a soggy, cool morning here on the farm. I think we are in for several days of liquid sunshine (rain). I guess fall has really arrived and winter is following close behind.

It is a day to be inside sitting in front of a cozy fire, reading a good book, and munching on Grandpa Stevens' homegrown popcorn, sipping a cup of hot chocolate.

    Jeremiah 31:25
For I will [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I will replenish every languishing and sorrowful person.

I am so thankful that God refreshes the weary and restores those that are faint or filled with sorrow. He is a true friend. He loves us above everything.

    III John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

When I think of all the things God did, and yet He says above all that He wants me to prosper in all things, to be in complete health, (here is the key) even as my soul keeps well and prospers.

May you have a most blessed day!

    Satisified with God's Love!

    Good morning,

It is a brilliant, sunny morning here on the farm. The outside matches the inside of my heart.

I received the following note from a lady who reads my devotional blog. I wanted to share it with you, especially the verse.

    Hi Joy,
    You bring me such joy!
You are a wonderful vessel that shines forth for all to see, the love of God!
Here's a verse that I love... "Satisfy me each morning with your unfailing love so that I may sing with joy and be glad all my days." Psalm 90:14.

"Each morning God's love is new and He can fill us with His unfailing love. So much so that we will feel like singing and be glad for all our days in this world. How awesome is that"?

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for my great-granddaughter. I don't know about you, but there was a different feeling inside of me when each of my grandchildren were born; but with expecting a first great-grandchild it makes me examine my life to see if I am singing with joy. I ask myself what kind of heritage can I pass on to my children, grandchildren and now great grandchild that will enable them to walk with love and joy in their hearts. To view life through the eyes of Jesus. To experience joy and gladness regardless of what they might walk through in this life. I am asking God to show me how to live so I can pass that knowledge down to my family.

God is so awesome! He loves us so much! I can't begin to tell of all the wonderful things he does for me. There is truly joy and gladness in my heart and my soul sings of His love.

    Have a great day!

    Joy

    In All Things Give Thanks!

    Greetings,

It is a wet morning here on the farm. I was watching the news last night and the weatherman said not much rain, calm warm night. It is a good thing I didn't put my trust in him. It rained hard and the wind blew, it just stormed most of the night. I was thankful I didn't have to be out in it.

    I Thessalonians 5:18

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. (AMP)

This verse keeps coming to my mind, that I am to give thanks in every thing, it doesn't mean I have to be thankful for being sick, or broke or whatever, it means I need to have a good attitude and to give God praise regardless of what I am going through. He is worthy to be praised. I believe that when I am thankful and give God thanks regardless of my circumstances that God hears my grateful heart and takes me through those situations quickly.

I try from the time I get up to going to bed to work on my attitude and to give God thanks all the time. Sometimes I slip up and maybe grumble for a moment, but not for long. There is just too much bubbling joy in me to be down.

I thank God for each of you and pray you have a great day in the Lord.

    Joy

    Exalting God!

    Good morning,

It is a chilly, misty, foggy, gray day here this morning, yet it is a beautiful day. It reminds me sometimes of how I feel; then I begin to talk with my friend "Jesus" and I get all warm and cozy inside so I don't notice the outside.

    Psalms 57:5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let Your glory be over all the earth!

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody.

8 Awake, my glory (my inner self); awake, harp and lyre! I will awake right early [I will awaken the dawn]!

9 I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.

10 For Your mercy and loving-kindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth and faithfulness to the clouds.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.

I was reading this chapter and noticed in these verses how I am to live, and the homage I pay to God:

    1. I am to EXALT God

    2. His glory is over all the earth.

    3. My HEART IS FIXED

    4. My heart is steadfast and confident!

    5. I am to sing and make melody.

    6. I am to wake up. I am to wake up early and give praise.

    7.  I am to give PRAISE, THANKS SING to the people and to the nations

    8. His (GOD'S) mercy, love and kindness is great! His FAITHFULNESS reaches to the clouds!

WOW! and to think it's all mine (or yours if you want it). To know God in such a wonderful way is sometimes beyond what I can grasp.

    HE IS!

Take care and have a blessed day!

    Joy

    I Will Never Leave You!

    Good morning everyone,

It is a sorta foggy day here, but a wonderful morning anyway.

Do you ever have one of those mornings, when your get up and go has gone up and went?

I am so thankful that my Lord and Savior is with me regardless of what goes on or doesn't go on in my life.

    Hebrews 13:5-6 (Amp)

5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

6 So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?

Isn't it wonderful to know that our loving Father will not leave us alone. He is ever present, even when we don't think He is.

May you have a blessed day!

    Joy

    Trusting in the Lord!

    Good morning,

It is a brilliant fall morning here on the farm, although it looks really foggy down in the valley.

    Jeremiah 17:7
[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

I was talking with a friend the other day about where we put our trust. I told her my trust was in the Lord; man can let you down, or even abuse the trust you put in them, but God will not let you down (although sometimes it seems like He does) nor will He abuse the trust you have in Him.

He is my hope and confidence. In Him I can get up and speak, I can depend on Him to give me the strength to keep on going, and I know that He will send others my way to encourage me and help me. What about you, do you have someone to depend on that won't let you down or drag you into a pit of despair and gloom? Do you know who to turn to all the time, not just when things get tough.

I don't know how I would get through the day without my greatest friend close beside me.

    Have a blessed day!

    Joy

    Rejoice in the Lord!

    Greetings,

It is a gorgeous fall morning, crispy and sunny. I really enjoy fall, but then I think I enjoy all the seasons. Although when it rains for days on end that gets a little monotonous.

We had a terrific Spirit filled weekend at the "Blow the Lid Off" Aglow leader seminar this weekend. The Lord is so awesome.  There were four different speakers, but all our messages dovetailed each other and blended together. None of us had talked with each other on what to share so I think what happened was indeed messages given to us by God.

    Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

This verse was read at the leadership seminar. It really caught my attention and stirred something up inside of me. I will try to share what I gleaned from this verse.

    Rejoice
    My soul is joyful
I have the garment of salvation
I'm covered with the robe of righteousness
    I am decked with ornaments
    I'm adorned with jewels
I am a daughter of the KING!

To me that is exciting! I pray you will feel the same way! With Jesus we can rejoice and be victorious! Praise His Holy Name!

    ALIVE!

    Good morning,

It is indeed a great morning, I AM ALIVE, WALKING, TALKING, SEEING AND HEARING! What a super way to start the day!

I trust you are also having a great morning!

The sun is shining, leaves are falling, birds are praising God and all is well on the farm. What more could a person ask for?

    Proverbs 17:22

A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

I come to you this morning with a happy heart to give you good medicine and a cheerful mind to promote your healing. How is your spirit today? Is it broken and drying up your bones; or is it happy and bringing life to your soul, mind, spirit and heart?
Are you rejoicing your way thru the day or complaining about everything? What is filling your mind? Good thoughts and praise, or bad thoughts and grumbling?

I don't know about you, but I want the best God has to offer and I believe that begins with a right attitude and a happy heart.

May you have a most blessed day!
