    Carried By Christ Too
O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. Psalm 139:1-4

    Matthew 7:1

Judge not that ye be not judged.

We must judge ourselves, and judge of our own acts, but not make our word a law to everybody. We must not judge rashly, nor pass judgment upon our brother without any ground. We must not make the worst of people. Here is a just reproof to those who quarrel with their brethren for small faults, while they allow themselves in greater ones. As it says in 7:5, Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.  Some sins are simply motes, while others are as beams; some as a gnat, others as a camel. Not that there is any sin little; if it be a mote, or splinter, it is in the eye; if a gnat, it is in the throat; both are painful and dangerous, and we cannot be easy or well till they are got out. That which charity teaches us to call but a splinter in our brother's eye, true repentance and godly sorrow will teach us to call a beam in our own. It is as strange that a man can be in a sinful, miserable condition, and not be aware of it, as that a man should have a beam in his eye, and not consider it; but the god of this world blinds their minds.

    John 6:26-27

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

St. John, Chapter Six, records how Jesus was followed by a great multitude of people, following him because they had seen his miracles. When on the mountain Jesus asked his disciples about buying food to feed the people, his disciples proclaimed they hadn't enough money to buy an adequate amount of food to feed the people. Jesus proceeded to feed the 5,000 people from one boy's lunch of five loaves of bread and two small fishes. The miracle becomes the foundation of a lesson that shows where the Christian should go to receive the best spiritual nourishment for his mind. The next day the multitude remained, and Jesus perceived that the people sought Him out to be fed physically again. He understood that they did not properly understand the miracle of what they had witnessed the day before. Jesus cautioned His disciples about allowing the wrong focus to dominate them. It is easily done, looking for Christ for the wrong reasons. In this world, providing for our physical life requires a great deal of time and energy for most of us. This necessary activity, in addition to countless other distractions working to grab our attention, makes concentrating on seeking spiritual nourishment a responsibility that demands vision combined with discipline in the use of time.

When we grow weary. . .

    Isaiah 40:31 (King James Version)

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Life throws us many curveballs, and sometimes we grow weary just trying to survive. But, when we place all of our cares into the loving hands of our Lord, and we die of ourselves, He renews us, enabling us to continue on, and finish the race. When we lose ourselves to Him, He gives us what we need to soar like eagles.

    Dealing With Fear

    Fear Not

    Isaiah 41:13

13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

We face many fearful episodes in our lives, and we tend to worry as we face these instances. We forget that our God is not only willing to assist us, but is fully capable of doing so. However, in His wisdom, the path may not always be what we expect, but in the end His will be done. Fear not, for He is with you. It is during those most fearful times that you are Carried By Christ.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help. . . "

No matter what we face, God will see us through.

    Psalm 71:5

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
As I encounter the many storms of my life, I remember to place it all in His hands, because He is my hope, and The One that shall enable me to weather the storm by carrying me through it, and holding me to protect me.
