Accepting others!
Good morning, It is a great morning here in Manassas. It is a fall, wet morning, about 70* and feels really warm even with the rain. Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Romans 15:7 Christ accepted you, so you should accept each other, which will bring glory to God. NCV Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. KJV "Being honest, authentic, and accepting in your love, even of people who misunderstand or reject you, helps them see what God's love is like". With reading the Word and asking God to teach me His ways, I sometimes feel like I am back in school, trying to learn algebra, Greek or some other difficult subject. Some parts of the Bible is easy to understand, while other parts is difficult for me to grasp. I know the more I study the Word, the more I will understand. My Father, said He will instruct me and teach me the way I must go. He is always guiding me and stretching me. I am trying really hard to look at everyone differently. To love them regardless of what the look or act like. My desire is for people to see Jesus in me. May God Bless You & have a great day! Joy

Making a difference one person at a time!
Matthew 5:14-16 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. KJV The thought keeps going thru my mind "Making a difference one person at a time; or one person making a difference". When we let our light shine for the Lord, those around us see the Sonshine we have on our face. They are looking to see if we are indeed living a joyfilled, Christian life. They are looking to see if what we have can be their's as well. Jesus touched a lot of lives, however, most of the time he did it on a one on one basis. Yes, he spoke to large crowds and many people followed him where ever he went, but the healings he did mostly one on one. If you are looking to do mighty things for God, it may start with just ministering to one person at a time. Let your light shine where ever you go, show the love of Jesus all the time, and watch what the Lord does through you in ministering to others. When you minister to others, you get ministered to as well. Praise the Lord! Have a blessed day!

God my Guide!
Good morning everyone, I pray things are going well with all of you. I am still in Virginia with my my son, Daniel and his family. He is just getting ready to go into surgery on his knee. It is quiet in the house at this moment. All 5 dogs are napping, cat is downstairs and I am doing my devotionals, then plan on reading more in my Bible. I am trying to get it read through this year. I sure slept good last night with the master of the house home. The house didn't seem so empty. Psalms 48:14 For this God, is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death. I am so thankful my God is mine for ever and ever. He will guide me (if I let Him) until I die. I can go to Him with any situation and He will see me through. When I pray He will give me clear directions, so I won't get lost. Praise the Lord! Take care and have a most blessed day. Joy

God is so awesome!
Greetings to you from the beautiful state of Virginia, My son called me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would like to come visit them, I said yes if I had a ticket. While I was talking to him on the phone, he booked my ticket and here I am. God knew I wanted to come spend time with my son and his family, so He made the way. Isn't that just like our God. Each time I come to Virginia, I fall a little more in love with it. I thought there was no place like Oregon (still feel that way mostly), but it sure is nice here. After traveling and speaking quite a bit the last couple of months and the excitement of getting my minister's license, it is nice to slow down and get some rest. Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall conintuinally be in my mouth. No matter what I am going through I know that if I keep my trust in the Lord and offer praise to Him, things will come out the way the Lord wants them to and in His time. God Bless!

Thank you, Father!
Good morning, It is a wonderful morning here on the farm. I have been up and down since 2:00 this morning. I kept thinking of things I want to share with the ladies in Baker City tomorrow night at their retreat. I was privileged to minister at church last night. What an honor. Bro. Bristow doesn't let just anyone behind the pulpit to preach. The Lord is so awesome. Well I get to share my secret as last night Bro. Bristow introduced me as the newest licensed minister in the church. When he called me up to preach he said "Rev. Joy Durham". I felt like I was 10 feet tall, but was so nervous I thought I was going to throw up. When I got up behind the pulpit, the nervousness left and I just spoke on what the Lord gave me. We had a wonderful prayer ministry afterward. I give all credit, honor and glory to the Father. Psalms 27:4-5 is one of my favorite verses: 4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple. 5 For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock. Thank all of you who were praying for me as I ministered what the Lord laid on my heart last night. No matter what I say or do, when you are upholding me in your prayers you are very much a part of my ministry. May you have a great day! Rev. Joy Durham Pentecostal Church of God Minister

Praise!
Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. How can a person grumble, gripe and find fault with everybody and still be praising the Lord at the same time? I say it is impossible! According to the scripture we are to bless the Lord at all times, no matter the trial, no matter if our physical bodies are tired, hurting or we just don't feel good; we are to still praise God. His praise should be in our mouth at all times. I know that is hard to do sometimes, however when we offer to God the sacrifice of praise and mean it with our whole heart, mind, body and soul then God can begin to change our trials and tears into joy. God bless you today. Joy

God's Beauty
Good morning, It is indeed a great morning I woke up! Psalm 48:14For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. It fills my heart with thanksgiving and praise when I read scriptures like those above that lets me know the Lord watches over me. He will direct my steps as I trust in Him. I am learning day by day just how wonderful and great my God really is. Sometimes it is hard to put into words the love of God. Sis and I were out walking with the dogs yesterday, there is a tree that the leaves are turning red, orange, yellow and purple. It is a beautiful tree, but unless you can imagine the colors its just something I've described to you; however, if you could see it in person, you would know the beauty of it. When we see Jesus in person through reading His Word and Prayer we begin to catch just a glimpse of who He is. Take care and have a blessed day! Joy

Everlasting Love
Fist, I didn't know it had been so long since I have posted anything. I apologize for that. I have been really busy doing the Lord's work, but that is no excuse to leave you so long. Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee. I am so thankful that the Lord loves me with an everlasting love: He will forgive me if I do something wrong, if I ask Him to. He cares about every aspect of my life. It is so awesome being submitted to someone who loves me so much. Take care and have a great restful day! Joy p.s. Don't forget to tie a yellow ribbon around a tree for Brad (my grandson) in Iraq. Please pray for the Lord to protect him. Thanks
