    Ready to Forgive

    For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,

    And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

    Ps 86:5

    ~~~~~
    I have been feeding on this verse all morning...thinking of any who might be hesitating about coming forward to the Lord's throne of grace...fearing His wrath or displeasure if they have sinned against Him.  Here we see our God...His goodness...standing ready to forgive.  I pray you will believe this about Him and tell Him all that burdens your heart;  for : If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us all our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  1 Jn 1:9
    I have also been rejoicing in the goodness of our God...our God Who is much maligned in this age...He is GOOD...AND MY MIND HAS BEEN DARKENED SO LONG I NEED TO CONTINUALLY MEDITATE UPON HIM...WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE DOES...WHAT HE SAYS as opposed to what some men might say about Him.
    I was also thinking that if God is ready to forgive, that virtue or character trait of His should be mine also...He has healed and is healing deep wells of bitter water in my soul because I never learned at a young age to be forgiving...praise God, it is never too late with Him to save and restore a soul.  Also know I need His strength...as the writer of this psalm asks for God's strength to be given to him...so I also ask:  Give Your strength to Your servant, Ps 86:16  Your strength to "be ready to forgive", what a spiritual blessing, thank You Lord.
    Praising Him
    Because Your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
    So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.
    Psalm 63:3-4
    ~~~

    Lord, I want to thank You for this joy!!!!  I thank You for Your faithfulness to me...for persevering with me...for bringing me into the light and truth of Your word by Your Spirit.  You have answered my prayer.

    May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,

    so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

    Romans 15:13

    Sunday Praise

    I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart;

    before the gods I sing your praise;

    I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness;

    for you have exalted your name and your word above everything.

    On the day that I called you answered me, you increased the strength of my soul.

    All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth.

    They shall sing of the ways of the Lord,

    for great is the glory of the Lord.

    For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he perceives from far away.

    Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies;

    you stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me.

    The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;

    your steadfast love,

    O Lord,

    endures forever.

    Do not forsake the work of your hands.

    Psalm 138

    The Way of Escape

    No temptation has overcome you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

    1 Co 10:13

    ~~~
    I've been in what I would call a "long" time of personal testing through a difficult health problem.  I've seen the grace of God pick me up and carry me in many ways...amazingly causing me to endure things I thought I could not endure...my whole walk has been turned around for the good...deeper revelation of His truth...of He Himself has been mercifully given me this year.
    Yet the trial continues and the furnace gets hotter...finally this week I began to see how I could twist some words around and really grumble and complain to the Lord, even about His wisdom and care for me...my words & thoughts really seemed quite "spiritual"...I had tried to "sanitize" them for sure.
    Today He gave me a genuine repentance for this problem...this bitter place lurking in my heart...it was a sweet time with Him and I know to be able to genuinely repent is a gift and work of the Spirit in my life...this repentance provided a way of escape for me...to bear the burden a little longer.
    ~~~

    Lord, there are many today who feel they are in a furnace...let them hear what Your Spirit would like them to hear...provide the particular way of escape that is right for their circumstance.  Encourage those about to faint...let Your power be revealed in marvelous ways to release captives and break the power over the minds and understanding of Your people ... the power that keeps them from hearing and seeing the truth as You mean it thru Your word.  And help us to let You conform our will to Your will in every way and purpose.  Thank You Lord.

    "The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent."

    Then the Lord said to Moses,

    "Why are you crying out to Me?  Tell the sons of Israel to go forward."

    Ex 14:14-15

    Enduring to the End

    He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

    1 Corinthians 1:8-9

    ~~~~~
    Lord, I am so thankful for Your word here...the way to the end can get pretty difficult...You know it allready and are there for us...ready and able to give us the strength we need...I am so grateful that You finally helped me to see how weak and ineffective my own strength is and always was...truly You are "Faithful".
