    MY REDEEMER

    Each time I sin

    The nail driven deeper in

    Another lash from the whip

Because I could not get a grip

The crown of thorns pushed deeper on the brow

Because I have chosen to live in the now

With each dying breath He sinks deeper

Hanging on the cross because I was a keeper

His love and life so freely given

All because I was dead in sin

As He hung there and died

His life for mine, He could not be denied

Feeling bereft alone and totally forsaken

Because of my sin, punishment taken

All the things I have felt and done in my life

He willingly bore so I might have new life

    I come to the cross

Leaving behind the sin and chaos

Drawn by the love in His eyes for me

Even though He was dying in agony

You gave up everything and became poor

All for love of me and gave up even more

Upon that tree You gave Your life in sacrifice

And for my sin paid the ultimate price

So I come beneath the cleansing flow

And all my sin and heartache I have let go

Now no longer lost in the world

My soul from sin no longer imperiled

His love and forgiveness wash over me

My precious Saviour has set me free

For now my unworthy soul is redeemed

With love, grace and mercy undreamed

And just as my Saviour rose from the dead

I have new life from sins deathbed

And when He returns to claim His own

I will go with Him to my eternal home

    WHAT TO DO

What do you do when life is not fair?
What do you do when you can not help but care?
What do you do when it is more than you can bear?
Take it to the Lord in prayer

You are told there is nothing they can do
You know deep down it is true
And the helplessness you felt before, is renewed
Take it to the Lord, He will see you through

You wonder how you will withstand
The helpless feelings and all the other demands
Of your time and life you have no command
Take it to the Lord, put it in His hands

I know it is easy to say let go and let God
But the problem is still there, you put up a façade
And wonder if others think you are a fraud
Take it to the Lord, He has been where you trod

So what do you do when it is answers you need?
Take it to the Lord, and give heed
To all the love and comfort He gives to the wearied
For He is our loving Father and with us will always be

    Jeannine Faith

I wrote this shortly after we found out there is nothing the orthopedic doctor can do for my son who is special needs. He has scoliosis of the spine, they can not do the surgery, it is tough enough on a healthy person, and they can not do a brace. You see it is not just curvature of the spine, the spine is also twisting causing the ribcage on one side to begin to close in on the heart and lungs. All we can do is make him comfortable. He also has cerebral palsy, can do nothing for himself, so is considered a quadrapalegic. He also has seizures, a trach and a feeding tube. But, Michael is the sweetest, happiest, loving little boy who will capture your heart and love with one smile. And he has more "girl friends" than you can shake a stick at.  Michael is a blessing! God Bless!

"Deep calls to deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your

    billows have gone over me..."

    Psalms 42: 7

Thank you to Colin for the picture! It was fun animating it!

    AN EXPERIMENT

As I wander along the creek
    I frequently stop to seek
    Answers to the questions
That I see in the reflections

The peace and quiet I find
Should not make it hard to unwind
But my thoughts refuse to be quiet
And I find I am at my limit

So I stop to quiet mind and heart
With a whispered prayer to start
And ponder the reflections I see
In the water there in front of me

I see the trees, and think of the cross
You died for me not counting the cost
The waters rushing by are Your blood flowing free
When I turned to You, of my sins You cleansed me

The waters flowing over the rocks, wild and free
Also speak of the living waters promised me
    Waters promised foremost and first
Promising me I will never thirst

I stop to look at the intricacies of each leaf and blade
And see the beauty of creation You made
To see the flowers against the water
Fill my heart with praise for my heavenly Father

The sun sparkling on the water
Is the sunshine of Your love, the Master
Of all of creation, and of my soul
Without You, I would not be whole

The hidden beauty to be found along the creek
Are newly revealed when pausing to seek
The reflections of all You have given us
When quietly sought, in the company of Jesus

The picture was taken last autumn at Eyer Park near where I live. It gets really pretty down there this time of year.

    TEARS OF THE HEART

You see every tear that falls
You know they are more than water and salt
For every tear is from the heart
What is felt, they are very much a part

You know the heart of the one who weeps
Though they try to hide it, tears still seep
From between closed eyelids they silently fall
As they open their heart and tell You all

As they tell You all their needs and fears
Their hearts an open book read in their tears
They tell You of needs keenly felt
    Their prayer to You heartfelt

    Precious Lord heal their heart
Let them know with You a new start
That Your love will soothe and heal
As there in prayer they kneel

Tears from the heart may sometimes start
But the love You bring will never depart
And when we feel we can’t make it through
All we need do is come to You

    ON THE ROAD TO DESTRUCTION

Speeding down the road I’m goin
Don’t know how fast, speedometers broken
But it is alright all the same
Keeping up with traffic is the name of the game

Reminds me how some go through life
Ignoring all the pain and strife
Heading at out of control breakneck speeds
Never stopping or listening or taking heed

They are on the fast road to destruction
Never heeding the signs of possible obstructions
They don’t take time to listen to the Good News
And soon it will be too late because they refused

Our loving Saviour came and died on Calvary
It should be a road sign to you and me
At the cross, a crossroads, listen to His voice
We need to stop, look and make the choice

Choose life with our loving Saviour
He is forgiveness and mercy, His love won’t waiver
He will lead you and guide you as we run this race
And instead of destruction, lead us with eternal grace
