Luke 4:1-13
Luke 4: 1-13 Many chose to deny the existence of Satan even though these verses and many others portray him as an actually being. Don’t be fooled Satan is very real and he is looking to lure us away from God.

Luke 3:19
Luke 3:19 But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, 20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison. (NIV) Eventually John would be executed by Herod in prison but John didn’t back down. He knew what publicly rebuking Herod could bring but he didn’t back down from the Word of God. As Christians we have to stand on the Word of God regardless of the wishes of society. Taking a stand against immorality, abortion, homosexuality and other hot button issues isn’t popular but we must stand on the Word of God and not compromise. Our judge will be God not society. We can’t water down the Word of God to please people.

Luke 3:16
Luke 3:16 John answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (NASB) Many choose to deny the reality of a coming judgment of God. This is just foolish behavior on their part. The above verses are one of many that warn of the coming judgment of God.

Luke 2:49
Luke 2:49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” NKJV How many of us are making an effort to be about the Father’s business? There a millions of lost people in the world today that are heading to hell without Christ. What are we doing to rescue them?

Luke 2
Luke 2 When you read Luke chapter 2 you realize the humble upbringing of Christ. Born to a carpenter and his wife in a stable. Jesus didn’t live in a mansion, He didn’t have fancy clothes and a lot of money. Matter of fact Christ spent a good bit time preaching against greed and the trappings of earthly things. So why do we have so many religious leaders today living a life of luxury while so many in the world live in poverty. Christ and His disciples used what little they did have to help the poor while these wealthy religious leaders of today drive around in fancy cars, live in fancy house, wear expensive clothes and do nothing for the poor. But of course a true child of God knows their award is in heaven not here on earth.

Luke 1:38
Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. Do we understand Mary’s statement. Mary was a young Jewish girl who was engaged to a Jewish man. It was expected for her to be a virgin at the marriage. How was she to explain her pregnancy? Who would believe this was an act of God? Not only could she lose her future husband but also her life. Under the Jewish Law she could have been stoned for this but she showed true faith and believed God was in control and submitted her life to the will of God.

Luke 1:37
Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God (NASB) In verses 1-36 we see an elderly woman told she will bear a child and a virgin told she will bear a child but as verse 37 says nothing is impossible with God. If we believe God created the world and created life why can’t we believe He can create life in the womb of an elderly woman or the womb of a virgin. Besides had not the Old Testament prophesied of these events? Luke
