Will You Rejoice?
The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with
singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will
overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. - Isaiah 51:11
(NIV).
We were the ransomed of the Lord. The devil held us as hostages after Adam and Ever sinned.
Jesus went to the cross and paid our ransom, so that we can sing, shout and have everlasting joy.
It is when we rejoice at what Jesus has done for us, even in the midst
of trials like Paul and Silas did in the jail, that our sorrow is
replaced with gladness and joy.
We must learn to rejoice in the middle of our trials that it is finished. Jesus finished the work at the cross.
Christ paid for it all--our sins, our sicknesses, our poverty, our sorrow, our pain and so much more.
To try to get God to give us what He already paid for us to have is
like saying Jesus' sacrifice for us was not enough, and it was.
It was a complete sacrifice. A perfect sacrifice. The only sacrifice we will ever need.
