I have to admit that I give, sometimes too much (which does make us short on the mortgage)..I don't have a new, fancy home. God provided this one to me, which is older and needs work, but is a home HE gave to me. I drive a mini van (neighbors all have SUV's) that has more dings in it than most cars in a junk yard--as well as a few mechanical problems that require loud christian music blaring.
I sponsor a child in sri lanka, tithe to my church, give clothes and supplies to those in need, go to homeless meal night at our church and donate to the good meals they share with all of us, I take people in when they have no place else to go (even though, I am usually hurt afterwards..I still do it)..so, as for tithing, I do it in many ways. I am not saying I am wonderful, but I do believe that, not all of us are in a position to give and have to give in other ways. Do you know that, the ones that give the most donations are those with the least money? Churches around the world have done polls on that, and it is true. Sad, isn't it?
I fall short on lots of things, but helping others isn't one. Right now, I need prayer and have been told to, concentrate on my walk with God and having an intimate relationship with Him. This is what I am doing for Him right now..getting to the place I am supposed to be.
