    I am having a hard time understanding such wisdom from one, who by the picture I see here, seems to be so young! But we are supposed to come to him like children. So I guess it fits!

    Once a guest speaker in our church reminded us to stop thinking about ourselves when we sing the praise and worship songs. Something I did often if not all the time while I was still new to praise and worship. That brought much healing and tears often rolled down my cheeks. After that, I learnt what it meant to praise and worship. I started putting all my focus on God as though He was listening just to me. Instead of much needed healing in those days, I now get a hot burning sensation inside as I focus on Him. If the healing didn't occur, I would be held back in praising Him, our most High God!

    Perhaps I am guilty of enjoying the praise and worship more than the service. This is an opportunity to praise God - why would you not enjoy it? But, my heart is prepared and I do listen to the service attentively and take in all I need.

    God Bless

    I like the birthday party illustration, especially if you think of the "gifts" that we take back home with us. Each church body is designed to be complete, to function well in every way, if we would each use the gifts that He has given us.
    2 Timothy 1:6-8 (KJV)
    6Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
    7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
    8Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    Personally, I know that my gift is for announcements. Its such a vital part of Gods Work. Otherwise how would people know that coffee and punch will be served in the fellowship hall after the service? :)
