I tend to agree with you in the general sense that our relationship to God is not a "name it and claim it" senario. God is not obligated to do what we ask Him to do even if we pray and expect those things in the name of Jesus.

However, there are numerous examples of men and women who came to the man of God in the OT and to Jesus and even His disciples in the NT asking for and expecting and receiving healing.

Sometimes Jesus came to them and many times they came to Him and their faith made them whole again.

Now, there were no doubt countless numbers of people who followed after Jesus looking for a variety of needs to be met that probably were not met because they looked for the wrong things from Him and looked to Him for the wrong reasons.

I do believe God does work in mysterious ways to demonstrate His glory and let the world know that He is God and that He is in complete control of everything... even when it seems as if things are completely out of control.

If this young man is as adamant about his faith in the Lord to everyone who comes into his room, medical staff and all, and his trust in truly in the Lord... then I think I would support that witness...

One suggestion might be the example of the 3 Hebrew children who were thrown inthe fiery furnace because of their refusal to bow down before the king....

Our God will deliver us from this fiery furnace but even if He does not... we will not bow! We would rather burn than bow.

This young mans testimony could be... I know in whom I have beleived and am persuaded that He is able to heal me from this illness but even if He does not do so.... I will praise Him and worship Him no matter what I have to face because of what He has already done for me when He saved me from my sin.

Wheter He chooses to heal me in this life, He WILL heal me in the life to come that will go on forever and that life is available to you as well!

I agree completely with your concerns with prosperity doctrine and name it/claim it. The word seems clear that if we really could "claim prosperity" it would only be so that we could give it all away.
There is a good chance though that I might have enjoyed the music, and the modern worship modes sound interesting. It can get hard to know what to be dogmatic over
