I am very sorry. I have never been part of these gender debates. Maybe I should have. You are very obviously a stong Child of God with great passion. There are few enough of those kind as it is, why would we exclude half of them? I love you and support you.

I think lots of men, even Christian men, have been raised to think they are superior to women just as the Nazis thought they were superior to the Jews or whites were superior to blacks. (Sadly, even some self-depreciating Christian women agree with them.)

It's just a part of life in a fallen world. We just can't let it get us down, shut us up, make us give up, or let it change our minds about ourselves. We don't have to get the men to agree with us or approve of us. We can also still choose to love them in spite of their prejudices.

We are here to love and serve God and to be a witness for Him. If we are doing that it doesn't really matter what others think or say about us and we can rest content knowing that God is well pleased.

Don't you think the devil wants to shut you up any way he can? God gave woman a voice and she is to use that voice to the best of her ability for Him.

    Teri,

I do miss your input. Despite what you may think of me, know this:

I cherish a woman's insight. I think some sisters understand this and others do not.

Just because I do not ascribe the same authority to a woman as I do a man does not mean that such must be taken as a devaluation of a woman's worth. That I might be wrong is without question. But I sincerely cannot say what I do not believe, as much as I would like to do so for your friendship.

A Prophet is a Prophet, man or woman, only by the Grace of God. A Prophet does not speak on their own authority and never can or they are not a Prophet. I split hairs sometimes too finely. I rarely make myself clearly understood. I cannot explain it any better than that. It baffles and frustrates me even more than maybe you, and I cannot just walk away from this infirmity, if it is so. I am stuck in my own pressence, I am afraid.

For what it is worth, truly I am sorrowful for any pain I may have caused you. Whatever my shortcomings, please forgive me. I cannot say my shortcomings have been overcome, but you may be the person I need to overcome them. If I asked for a cup of water, would you give it to me for Christ's sake? (I hope that does not sound like cursing, it is meant to be a question with meaning from God's word)

I do not think authority is something that makes one superior. Using it wisely may make one superior than one who does not. Abusing it denigrates any value of superiority that such authority might be thought to have. Authority and my understanding (or misunderstanding of it) are core to who I am, so if you are to fight for me, it will probably be an epic battle. Is it worth it? I cannot say. I will not judge myself even in this.

    Sister, you are missed.

    In Love,

    Mel
