Mel, you bring up a valuable point to consider; don't worry that someone might take it wrong. I think if you don't question your worthiness or preparedness at that moment when God calls on you, you may just be overestimating your preparedness and capability.

One thing I'd add, though - the main difference between Paul (Saul at that point in his life) and Moses was that Paul's question had more of an "Okay, I hear You, Lord; how am I supposed to respond to Your call?" attitude, whereas Moses' attitude was more like, "Who, me? Are You sure You have the right guy here, God?" We're told God got angry with Moses because he kept making excuses and trying to back out of what God was calling him to do. When I read that passage, it seems to me that God got a little fed up with Moses' attitude - as if He wanted to say, "Come on, man! Isn't the burning bush thing enough to convince you that I know what I'm doing by calling you to this task? I am "I AM", after all! I brought you into this world and put you through everything you've experienced just to prepare you for this! Now quit making excuses, pick up that stick and get your behind back to Egypt before I light you on fire!" Thank the Lord He's more patient with us than we are with each other, huh, Mel? :-)

Have a blessed day, my brother!

Good thoughts, Mel! There have been a number of times in my life when I've questioned what I am being prepared for. One that specifically stands out in my memory is one that I knew He was preparing me for, but unlike Moses and Paul, as a new Christian I drew back in fear--I was sure I'd fail in what He was calling me for. I hadn't learned to trust HIM to give me all I'd need to do all He asked. He didn't lead me in that particular direction again, but He has called me to other areas of ministry and I have since surrendered and committed to obeying His direction. I know that you already know this: but whatever and wherever He calls, let Him lead and you will never regret it; whether you KNOW "whither you go" or not!
    God's blessings, my friend.

Well Mel. I question what I am being prepared for often. I may or may not be already doing it. I am trying to let God lead, but I'm not sure if it is the direction God wants me to go.
I just keep doing and praying. Mabe one day it will become clear for both of us.
    In Gods Love.

Patient even with Jezzabel, Traci! Thanks!

Sharon and Larry, you know it. A day at a time, as I allow myself to be led. Sounds so easy. Why is it so hard?

    Hi Mel,
Wonderful scriptures and comments from others.
Mel, as you stated one day at a time...We will know if we are going in the right direction, if we have that peace, only Jesus gives. If we are not at peace, remember we are not in the right direction. In John 14:27 -- Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afarid.

    Jesus is our Peace....
God bless you dear Brother, have a great day, with Love, Joy, and Peace in Him....
    In His Love,
    Lois

    Mel,
I believe you will be ready when God calls.
He never gives us more than we can handle.
He loves to take the ordinary person and have them do extraordinary things.
Look even at Jesus' mother, Mary... a simple girl from a small village.. yet chosen to carry our Savior.
I have faith that you can do it... and I am sure God has faith in you too!
God bless you for listening to His call.

So, when do we get to hear about it???? Sitting on the edge of my seat......

    <(O_O)>

    God Bless

    Mary Lou,

Thanks. I am sure you are right. Will I believe it when the time comes? That is the real question.

Lee, as if I am sure what it really is. I have ideas. They are probabaly wrong. Tell your child you have something important they are going to have to do for you. Listen to their little minds try and guess what it is. Maybe even give hints if you are so inclined. The guesses might be even more amusing. That is you and I guessing what God has in store for us. We might even touch on a piece of it here and there, but we really don't see the big picture the way He does...

    LOL!

    In Christ,

    Mel
