Read through what I posted and okay I guess we have to admit Samson was filled with hormones but I'd still like to think his strength came from God not his own . He did ask God for help in bringing down the building
    Be blessed

LOL, and those horomones are what got him in so much trouble...

So, where did Samson's strength really lie? Was it really in his hair? Perhaps you are more correct in your picture of Samson than you think. The Word tells us that God will use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise... so maybe, the weak to confound the strong?
I know that I am living proof of the foolish things.

    In His Service,

That was realy good. Personally, being a big weakling (in so many ways), it was a great message. Thanks

Ross, I believe his strenght came from God. I believe that when he gave in to Deliah by telling her where his strenght came from he broke his bond with God. He put something or rather someone before God at this point so his strenght fled from him.

You all let me know here if you think I'm way off base but I have read your comments and I respect your viewpoints and agree. let me say first I think we can all agree Samson Got his strength from God, yes? Secondly Samson's hair was nothing more than an outward sign of obedience, maybe something similar to our act of baptism. God was with Samson and could have stopped what happened any time He wanted, just as He could have done with Christ at the crucifiction. I don't read as with David that Samson was a man after God's own heart. Yes God had blessed him but still he was a cad (not sure that is right) Samson placed his lustful desire over his obedience to God and he had to pay the price. Beaten, blinded, enslaved and his glorious hair gone he still asked for God's assistance and God responded with a glorious YES let's me know no matter how badly I behave I can still turn to Jesus and be assured of my salvation
Be blessed and thank you all for your input

whoops I forgot something. I can have my salvation but that does not mean I won't have to face the reprocutions of my sins. Miss that mark by to much and you're gonna get spanked
    Again be blessed

Haven't we all gotten spanked? (at least those of us with parents who cared enough to not just follow the current fads of child rearing)

As an aside responding to a comment on Lee's blog, I have seen comments from Teri from time to time. She is still around, if normally quiet.

The last verse in Judges chapter 13:25
"The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him, 25 and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol."
The Spirit of the Lord began to stir him I think it is save to say God was his strength
