    Writing about Jerusalem, Isaiah let write:
    "As a young man marries a maiden,
    so will your sons marry you;
    as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
    so will your God rejoice over you."
    Men are men. Tihi! Hmm ...
      I believe I can sleep whenever wherever too. Hours in transport on the M6 taught me that. :)

    Mel, here's a pragmatic example for you:

    I live with two other people, both old enough to clean up after themselves. I often come into the kitchen to find dishes in the sink instead of the drain rack. Since I don't want us to start attracting bugs, I do the dishes, but many times I grumble about why someone else didn't do them.

    Now, I know doing the dishes doesn't equate to risking your life for someone else's safety, but laying down our lives means just that - laying down our self-interest in the service of others. In these situations, I'm serving the rest of the household by taking care of the dishes, but my attitude isn't right about it yet. I beseech the Lord every time to crucify that fleshly part of me, but the old lady ain't dead yet, you know? Hopefully, one day I'll be able to go in that kitchen, do the dishes if they need it, and not think about why they weren't done to start with.

    Every time we cheerfully, willingly do something good for someone else, we're laying down our lives for them, because we're preferring them over ourselves and thereby ministering the love of God into their lives - even in the mundane things like cleaning up.

    Does that qualify as a pragmatic example?

    Have a blessed weekend!

    Indeed! Thank you Traci! Military duty this weekend, I am afraid, but although it is not as restful, it usually is not bad. I wonder if there is anthing pragmatic in the way I can approach that?

    Hmmmm...

    In His Loving Light,

    Ya Anders. I think all the time spent in C-130's did it for me. Interesting scriptural reference to be posting at just this time. It even ties in with thoughts of Mary and Joeseph and the Davidic line of Christ in brother phillip's blog. Are you guys coordinating this somehow to channel my thoughts a certain way? It most certainly seems that you must be! OK. I am being somewhat obtuse. We all know who has had plans for us since before we were born!!!

    Who is Able??? Yes, He is able! And in Christ, so are we!!!

    In Truth,

    Mel
