I once came across a publisher who wanted me to pay a lot of money to get my book (a collection of poems) published too. I considered the publisher not serious. If the publisher is paid to publish his books he will publish whatever. And the stores know this. So the stores will not be interested in taking in his books.
I hope you find a nice and serious publisher interested in your work.

Thank you for the input. What I found out is this publisher been in busy since 1938. The price is in range for all they do for you. I'll keep looking. Did you get your poems published?

No, I am sorry I never got my poems published. I have more or less given it up.
