What do you mean that Celbrate is based on the words of Jesus Christ rather than on psychological theory? I have studied psychology and its related fields for over 10 years. In my opinion, Jesus Christ is the greatest psychological theorist there ever was. He hits on all the major schools of thought from strict adherents to behavioral principals to cognitive behaviorism and to psychoanalyis and humanism. Behavioral principals are seen in the word where it says" God will not be mocked, a man does reap what he sows" Cognitive behaviorsim is evident in the scripture "Take every thought captive to Christ" for we know that thinking godly thoughts will lead to Godly behavior. His psychoanalysis is simply seen as the effects of sin on our lives. The dynamic battle ground postulated by sigmund Freud which involves unconscious conflict between the id, the ego and the super ego is just our brains way of processing the effects of sin. The answer to that is to releaze that only Christ can being peace to that dynamic battle between the ego, the wuper ego and the id. Jesus' answer to humanism is the He is Lord. We are not to glorify mankind but to glorify Him. I see Jesus in every branch of psychology even if his teachings are opposed to some of it. His teachings are the psychological truths that some men who study psychology have found to be true.
Carl Jung, a disciple of Frued discontinued his relationdhip with Frued because He saw in his own experiences with psychologically distuyrbed people that there seemed to be somehting more than just and id, ego and a super ego. He said that it seemed to be very strong and very peaceful and it came from outside of them. Later, Jung acknowledged that it had to be christ that he was seeing in the minds of his clients. Jung made this acknowledgement just before he died.
