Cool haiku, Mel! I could just see the panther lurking in the tall grass, waiting for some hapless critter to cross her path.
A question for you: Have you written any poetry recently? Your posted poems seem to be somewhat "vintage," shall we say, based on their copyright dates. I like what I've read so far, and I'd like to see more.
