Good Post. I have the same problem with the system. However, I actually do go to my childrens's school, unannounced and directly. Last time was to build a bookshelf for my daughters locker. It took two visits, and certain areas you are shepherded away from, as if there is something to hide in great shame! I amsure I scare the establishment, but the kids love what I do for my child. I could almost make a business out of helping children outside the current system, I think!
She has ADHD, and I have to do everything I can to support her, because except for the time when she had a principal who was ADHD himself and understood, I get only criticism of my child and no help, for whatever the reasons! I know she can do well, (because dhe has done well in the proper environment) but her disability is not one that is generally considered Politically Correct enough to merit any true help on an ongoing basis. The point has almost been reached that I think homeschooling may become the only alternative, and Both my Wife and I work, which I honestly think we should not have to do in order to survive.
Eventually, this system will fail completely, and there will be a lost generation that will pay for this stupidity and stuborness. We should cry for the children and make a whip of cords like Christ did and Drive the Money Changers from the Temple. I don't see that happening, though.
