The criteria for judging is this:
Judge like a Doctor, who hates the disease, but cares for the patient. Even more than that, we are to love the patient. We are *not* to judge as one sitting on the bench. That kind of judgement is reserved to God alone. In the New Testament, there are more than one word that is translated to judge, and related terms. Understand that we are to care for others, and if our judgement is being excercised for their benefit, and not for our justification, we are likely doing it correctly, or at least we stand a better chance of doing so.
