    Hi Ross -

Here is my take on the whole "christian thing". I believe that there are two types of christians. Those called by God "by name" as per the bible verse John 10 v 23 and those looking for God. By the sound of things, you have been called. The christians who do not put their faith into action as you mention, I believe have not yet been called by God - their time has not yet come. They are trying their best to live the good life, but I don't think that they have that personal relationship yet as you might have. Once called by name, your eyes are always on the gold as you have something to strive for. You know what you were created to do. They don't YET.
I take my hat off to them as at least they make the effort to go to church and spend time hearing about God even though they may not have a personal relationship with Him. How much harder is that???? They have the faith to keep going, and almost get very little out of it compared to you. Their time will come when God will call them by name and at least the ground work will already be in place.

I used to feel the exact way you did until I realised that I was even worse then them before I was called.

Does this make sense? God Bless

Hey Lee,I'm glad to see somebody read this stuff. It's funny you should say you used to believe the same, but your opinion has softened. who's to say , Honestly this hard line about witnessing Ive taken is a new thing for me. Not really sure where it came from, but I am very compelled to shout it uot. This is like a fire that has consumed me. Look at John 15 I think one would have to say to themselves, I must bear fruit. Look in Revelation Christ didn't have to much good to say abut most of the churches, but especially look at the church of Laodecia. He called them lukewarm and said he was ready to spit them out. Lee I guess I'm not saying people are going to be cast into Hell because they don't witness, because faith is the requirment for salvation, but I do believe the Lord laid a plan before us that we should at least try to follow. If you look at the open air page of my website you will see I,m not telling everybody to stand on a streetcorner shouting repent the end is near, but to adopt the oikos sytem of evangelism(oikos, basicaly household,or family) that Christ taught. Every Christian should be trying to sway others to faith. How can one honestly look at a person, know that person does not have a relationship with the Lord and will be cast into the eternal torment of Hell, and not have their heart ache for that person? Christ said we should all be servants. I can't help but think that by leading a lost soul at least into the area of salvation would be a glorious service. You are right, not all of us are called to preach, but to be fruitfull is for everyone who claims salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Hi Ross. I don't know if you've heard of Ray Comfort or not, but he speaks on the same order as you, and one that I have great respect for in spite of a couple of areas where I am in disagreement. But the point of my comment is this. Lee made the statement that there are two kinds of Christians, those who are called by God and those who are looking for God. I am inclined to believe that that description falls more accurately into the statement that there are true converts and false converts. The true convert is living by faith, the false convert is trying to seek God based on his or her own personal goodness. One is a Christian, the other only thinks he is. For while one may be called he does not cease to seek. If he is seeking it is only to draw closer and to grow in his understanding of what God's will is for his life. I submit that one cannot be a Christian and not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. While the relationship may be less than what it should be at times due to our own fleshly missteps, there is a relationship nonetheless. As Ray Comfort might say, today's mindset among many professing Christians is one that embraces a man-centered gospel, a gospel that doesn't actually bring a person to an awareness of his sin, but a gospel that simply sympathizes with his state and tries to improve upon it by promising peace, joy, and lasting happiness if he'll just accept Jesus. I think you know what I'm talking about. May the Lord continue to bless your efforts. Also I know a couple of spots you might want to check out. Ray Comorts website is http://www.livingwaters com, and another guy, Todd Friel, who is a Christian dj in Minneapolis, MN. who can be found at KKMS.com. He hosts the Talk the Walk ministry. Really good stuff. Lord bless. :)
