You began with the following quote... 1What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement.. at least outide some context. Faith can be described as the confident assurance of what Jesus hopes for is going to happen... which includes you and me but to use the statement that what WE hope for is going to happen... I just cannot buy. I can hope for hte promises of God, which is what I believe Paul is refering to but so many people use that statement to try to mold God into som kind of Cosmic Santa Claus thinking... If I can claim it and believe it, it will come to pass. God is not obligated to our whims no matter how much we may hope... He isobligated to keep His promises though!

I like the definition of faith that Paul gives us in the last part of verse 6... that faith is believing that God is everything He says He is... Paul says that those who come to God must believe He is... that He is what... everything that He says He is!

And that He will do everything that He says He will do.... Paul tells us that God is rewarder of those who dilignetly seek Him...

We need to understand as much about faith as we possibly can if that is what God is looking or in us!

    Be blessed today!
