Amen, brother! We've been studying about cults and other religions in our Sunday school class, and as the teacher, I've been doing a lot of research for the lessons. I've found that in every case, there are some common denominators:
1. A denial of the deity (and often of the supernatural conception) of Jesus.
2. Many times, the story of Jesus' life, death and resurrection is altered, questioned or reinterpreted in some philosophical or metaphysical way that fits with the views of the group in question.
3. A claim to a new revelation or truth, revealed only to a chosen few.
4. An alternate way of salvation that leaves Jesus out of the equation, and usually an entirely different definition of what it means to be saved.
5. Different definitions of key Christian words and concepts; often the existence of heaven, hell, the devil and angels is either redefined or denied altogether.
6. An equality of the religions (there is truth in all religions, or all religions are true, or some other equally absurd claim).
In short, Satan has a basic outline of how he distorts God's truth, but he wraps it in a number of different packages to appeal to as many unbelievers as possible. He may throw in a few optional features in one "religion" that don't appear in another one, but the basic agenda is the same throughout: deny God and try to find some other way to salvation and eternal bliss.
I'm with you; I'll stick to the Bible for my truth, and to Jesus for my salvation.
