I think you're right about the new believer...they need time and space to grow in their relationship with God and I think that they are often rushed much too quickly to grow up, but I also think it is reasonable to expect to see some serious growth in those same people after claiming to know God for a number of years. They need to start off on milk but then move on to meat and, if they do not, I think it indicates that there is an ongoing spiritual immaturity there that needs to be dealt with.

    God bless,

The young christians needs to be feed milk, until they are mature enough to eat the strong meat. But it takes some time, some grow faster than others, due to the true teaching of God's word. Others that don't grow much sometimes are under the teaching of those that don't have a deep knowledge of the word.....and some never grow to maturity, because they never have a desire to have a deeper relationship with our Lord....They just know that they have been saved, and that is enough.... I have seen these things happen over the years.....The new born christians needs to be encouraged. As we all need encouragement at times.....

Great Post, Brother...God bless you as you work in His vineyard...

You are right.. God did not put wings on no caterpillar. He changed him from the inside and guess what... God does not need you or me to help Him in that process... in fact, when we try to help bu cutting the cocoon to help the butterfly out.... it will die.

We should seek to encourage and help others out in their walk but we need to be very careful that we do not hinder that pilgrimage! We need to remember that we need to remove the moat in our own eye before we go trying to take the splinters out of others eyes.

Sometimes God lets us stay in that cocoon a little longer than others.... sometimes it is for our benefit and somethimes is is because of our own stubborn wills.

I am being convicted about being too judgmental of people around me and their lack of spiritual growth... I know in my own life... God should have kicked me off the team a long time ago! But He kept me on the sideline ready for action for a reason... and He has told me to put my helment on...

I am not the person that I used to be but that process has taken a lot longer than it ought to have taken... David was no exception... Moses... Simon Peter... and then even Paul got impatient with John Mark and refused to let Barnabas take him with them and what happened.... barnabas took John Mark and Paul took Silas and they went in two directions!

Isnt it amazing what God can do with caterpillars! I am not even sure I have wings yet!!!!
