We don't think of Paul in this way, but he is the Writer. Sister, Fighting this fight you are in good company. I know despair at momments as I am sure even Paul did.
I think Jon has a point about Pride being a Lynchpin of sorts. Itr seems to be my downfall as often as not. Thankfully, God loves us enough to humble us.
My Prayer? Let him humble me, and those I love and care about.

If you listen to parents as they talk with their children, many times you will hear....George/Mary TAKE PRIDE in all you do, you are the best at it, no one else is as good as you are. Yes I truly have heard parents say such a thing to the children. and believe me the devil loves to hear such things said to the little ones for it gives him an opening to work on them. Pride is one sin that many over look and do not seem to realize it is present in thier own lives it has became such a part of them. thank you for this post.

I am not quite sure of how it all became about pride. I read the poem and relate to it as though I wrote it myself. "It" is everything that satan uses, the thoughts - the mind - what satan put's inside your head. For each of us it is different (but the same), an enemy that has been defeated yet found a way back in a new trial, and what was already defeated needs to be defeated again and again and again until we are perfected into the image of Christ.
Excellent poem Teri - as I said, I could have very well written it myself. Been there, Done that, not proud of it, but willing to admit that I need to work hard and becoming what God has destined me to be.
