    Thie writer wrote... It is completely wrong for a man or a group of people to form their own denomination and worship the Lord there. Jesus said: “Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch” (Matthew 15:13-14). The founders of human denominations are blind leaders."

    This is absurd. I can make the same argument on individual churches.... that it is the house church that we need to be promoting...

    Now I cannot speak to most denominations... but as Southern Baptist... the convention is an extention of the churches... it does not exist to dictate what I believe as a Baptist.

    The work that most denominations do because of the numbers of churches that contribute to the common cause of evangelism etc... as well as assisting churches in materials and organizational assistance.

    Most non-denominational churches that I am familiar with associate with certain other churches and share teachings of larger non-denominational church leaders... and that makes them little denominations to some degree... which is not a problem to me.

    seems to me the only people that complain about denominations are those that are not denomination... so what shoud it matter to them anyway?

    Just a question....

    I'm not sure what the author is trying to get across. Is he saying there is only one true denomination? Paul says:

    For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

    But now God has placed the members (us), each one of them (us), in the body (of Christ), just as He desired.

    Now I realize this is from I Cor. 12 while he is discussing the gifts of the Spirit but the same holds true for the Church as well.

    The Bible tells us:

    and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

    Now if we find ourselves in a church, or denomination, that is teaching a "different gospel" than the one we have received, then we are in church or denomination that is in the grip of unbelief at worst, or lawlessness (sin) at best. Should we stay there? Would God leave us there, or would God call us out of there and lead us to a better place? My Bible tells me this:

    2 Cor 4
    14. Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
    15. Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
    16. Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM;

    Does the author believe that God is incapable of calling people together at His choosing? It's not the name of the church, but the heart of the church, that matters.
