if it is any consolation... I too was saved at a very early age and surrendered to preach when I was 19 years old. My life has taken some rough roads because I decided to do things my instead of doing them God's way. God was patient with me and has stood beside me in all of my blunders which I would put alongside anyone... I tell people that Paul could say that he was chief of sinners because I had not been born yet.
One thing that I have learned about salt is... it stays salt! It may get dirt in it but it is still salt. You can take the dirt out and you will have salt left!
God will bless your faithfulness to Him one day at a time. He will move you from where you are to the place that He wants you to be as you give Him your decisions.... one decision at a time.
God has taught me so much about His character in ways that I could had not every understood without having taken the road that I have been down.
The Holy Spirit will begin to work in the lives of your family as they see a difference in you as well. And... as they see the changes in your attitude and your priorities they will respond... and they will not likely resopnd too well to the things you say... or expect of them...
My prayer is that God reaches out to touch you even more and that through you He will make a difference in the lives of your family as well!
May God continue to bless your life my brother.

You and your family will be in my prayers. Know that we are all one family in Christ. We all fall short of the glory. Never forget the power of prayer and always remember brother that we are working for Heaven and one day will return home. Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, know that many of your brothers and sisters are praying for you (because we love you) and carry on my friend. Remember you are "sealed in Him" and the Holy Spirit is within you. May you be blessed!
