Plain and simple...it was love. Acting in loving ways brings glory to God.

Have a great day in Him!

Where are you headed with this train of thought? We can preach or share what Jesus has done for us... but we also have to keep our message Biblically based... the Apostles knew the Old Testament... they understood that Jesus was the fulfillment of the OT prophesies concering the Messiah... Obviously Jesus chose ordinary men to do extraordinary things but that does not mean that they were uneducated or did not understand some of the theological precepts that the church was built upon.

One other thing that I think is important for us to remember is it was the resurrection that gave these men the overwhelming desire to go and tell the world about Jesus. The Holy Spirit's coming upon them gave them the power and the assurance that they needed to go and tell... but it was the resurrection that ignited their fire!

I think we need a great base to build our lives on, which has to be the Word of God and then we need to be willing to tell what Jesus has done for us and we also need to live our testimony in front of people each and every day. Our lives are the only Bible that many people see....

May the Lord continue to bless your ministry.

I understand your concern Bob, and I agree with what you are saying. But don't get the cart before the horse.
Remember it is a faithful saying that they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. That is true for what they accept about Jesus too!

ok... you can love people right into Hell... I have read most of your posts... and certainly you are right in that we should be sharing what Jesus has done for us but understanding the Word of God and how that Word makes a difference in our hearts and in our lives is also as important as our loving one another.

People do need to know that we care but they also need to hear the Word of God which is the only thing that will make a diference in changing their lives.

The Word tells us that it dos not matter what we know if we do not have love then what we know has not taken hold of our own lives and in efect...we dont really have anything to share with others in the first place.

The bible does not say, without love it is not possible to please God.... it is faith in God that He is looking for and faith is founded on the WOrd of God... and tursting Him to do what only He can do for us.

People need what God can do for them in their lives and they need to see what God is doing in our lives so that they will come and say...I want that in my life.

My point is that the cart before the horse is getting it right in the Word and then going out in love...

Bob, I think you are so concerned about your point that you are missing the point.

You are right when you point out that people change as they are confronted by the word. And we need to be knowledgeable so we can tell others.

But they won't listen to the word if you don't explain to them who Jesus is in their everyday lives.

This is not just my opinion, I have been practicing this for years.

When I'm talking to the average person who is not Christian, I am not trying to raise up a theologian. I'm just trying to get them interested in the answer.

I am convinced that is what the Apostles did. After they start to understand who and what Jesus is then you lovingly teach the word.

It's true you can love people right into hell. But you can preach them into hell also.

May God help us not to cause any to stumble.

Plese keep reading the blogs. Many have come to the Lord this way.

I love the freedoms we have in the US. But I truly admire those in the persecuted countries that have come to know, and accept, Christ- that have never even seen a Bible! What an amazing Lord we serve!

I agree unshackled. Excellent example of God's ability to get it done without all the traditions. Not that they are bad. Just often unneccasary.
