There is truth in that. Also, he who is faithful in little things can be trusted with the big things...

Hi Ross, The one thing I can understand is that when we repent, we turn away from our own ways, (of the world) turning to God's ways, (His ways are Holy).
This will take a little time but God gives the strength to resist temptation.
Jesus says, "why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not what I say?" Lk. 6:46
Build your house on the rock & not on sand!
In LK. 13:23ff Jesus tells the parable of the house owner who may refuse entry, saying "I do not know you". Jesus is comparing what the kingdom is like, & who qualifies for entrance.
These verses make you think I tell you. No, it is not easy, but remember we have an advocate, keep your accounts short with God is one thing I was taught as a young disciple.
The words of Christ are Awesome
Love in His Name Stuart

Song of Solomon 2:15....Most of us, as the people of God, cannot be tempted and drawn away with the huge things. It is always the small, seemingly insignificant things, that will start us on the downward spiral.
Could I be tempted to steal alot of money from my local store? NO! Could I be tempted when the cashier gives me too much change? Maybe.
The devil doesn't try to make huge cracks in our foundation, only small ones that he can erode away bit by bit.
Good lesson to keep in mind!
In His Service,
