I heard an illustration that I don't remember very well. (so I'll fake it). There is a plant that doesn't grow at all the first two years. Water it, feed it, weed it. It still just refuses to grow. Then one day it just explodes. It grows a foot or two a day.

I really think that this is how most of us grow, even in patience. Not sign of anything. Then, one day, huge growth. Maybe not instant patience, but a great improvement.

What an awesome awesome verse! 2 Peter 3:15. WOW!

I grew up with a vegetable garden. A rather large one at that! One thing I hated was having to weed it during the holidays! But, there was nothing better than quickly picking off a few meilies, tomatoes, lettuce or even a strawberry or two. And because of what was part of me in childhood, that seed has matured and I too now long for the vegetable garden. Ahhh one day.......

    God Bless

    Great job and welcome.

One of the problems with personal growth has to do with watching every day... We cannot see the difference because the growth is so gradual and we cannot see the difference... take your garden... if you leave it for a week.... and come back it seems as if it has grown more in a few days than it had all season... it grew the same but because you were not there watching it every day.... you noticed the difference.

Our lives are somewhat the same. We may not see the redeeming work that the Holy Spirit is doing in us but others will notice that difference a lot quicker because they do not see us every day and each decision that we make... we see others and think.... wow I wish I were more like him or her.... when in reality they may well be looking at us and thinking the same thing!

    God bless you!!!

It's interesting to see that God often uses gardens to show His love or teach lessons to people. Maybe everyone should have one! :)

It isnt until I was saved that I was able to see how far I had come, by the Grace of God. For years, I lived in darkness, surrounded by desert and no water to be seen. In Him, I found my way out of the desert into an Oasis. Yes, there are constant storms, but as I look back, I see how each one has molded me a little more in a way that He can utilize those trials to help others. Praise Jesus for all He does to work on our "own gardens".

    God Bless,
    Kelly
