Hi Lee, could not agree more, you have hit the target with this one. Our prayers must be God directed, God centered & God's will must be to the forefront.
With this in mind I hope it makes a difference to your prayerlife & mine.
Love in His Name Stuart

I'd say as a counterpoint to read the Prayer of Jabez. There is a certain type of selfishness that we are all too afraid to exhibit. The selfishness of petty personal things versus the selfishness of wanting God to bless you according to his will. I am not sure that I am getting this across the way I want to, but I think if you examine that little scripture, you gain insight into how and why and what to ask for.
In Truth,

I understand what you are saying Mel. I just think we should put God's list first and then pray for our list.
As for Jabez It says that Jabez was more honorable then all his brothers. Not sure I qualify.

Stuart, I have to say that this has made a significant difference in my prayer life. not what I pray for but a developing humility that God comes fisrt and that includes His desires. Continue to check back in next few days.
