Funny how you say this. I recently felt the call to be an intercessor. I had a spare room that I made into a prayer room and have a kneeling chair, a glider rocker (to get comfortable during my time with Jesus), candles and my bibles in there. I begin with the Lord's prayer in my own words (but done in the format that Jesus prayed to His Father), then meditate on receiving the Holy Spirit--and then, every night is different. I intercede by the Spirit, not by what my wants or needs are. Each night is different, even when I am praying for some of the same people. I have found this to be filling me with intimacy for the Lord as well as making every day life seem more joyfilled. Yes, you are right--we need to focus more on praying through the spirit and praying differently every time.
