Nihilism. Funny how much philosophy has been writen on the subject, argueing its points, denying any truth in our exsistance, and yet against logic, feeling the need to proselytize people to their way of thinking and convince them that such truth is important. Phah! They deny their basic premise by even discussing the idea. If they truly believed it, they should simply enjoy life as animals, and kill themselves when the enjoyment is gone. I am not suggesting that they are right. Far from it. I am simply pointing out that they do not do as they say they believe!

The truth is, that deep under it all they sense purpose in our existence and seek to find it even in denying it. Ironic, isn't it? They cannot make the arguement, for simply in even admiting a desire to make the arguement, even if they see the hypocrisy in actually doing so, they deny it's validity.

Examine this arguement I am making and point out its flaws. That is a challenge! Unfortunately, I think few of those who would visit here would be able to even think along these lines, much less engage in a philosophical debate to understand the flaws in this way of thinking.

I feel that this is what I need to be saying in the world. I understand, and so many do not, the true purpose of our being. Do You?

    In Christ,

    Mel

BTW, Ross, I think you could engage in this conversation, for by this post, I believe you have.

Thank you for the vote of confidence Mel, hang in there I'm going to proove that atheism does not exist and all whom believe they are, are truly seeking. This is in essence a compilation of conversations I have had with some that refuse to believe atheism is a religion and others that believe me to be stupid for my faith. I can't wait till we get to reincarnation

Well put Ross, we look forward to the next episode in your walk with life. Paul reminds we must be all things to all people.
May God richly bless your Ministry, be wise in the ways of the Lord.

And you are worried where I am - where have you been?

Mel I have to say after reviewing your comment, I don't think i could take an apposing view to what you are saying most likely because my beliefs are pretty close to yours and the illogical approach of nihilism disputes itself I don't understand how one could base doctrine upon nothing, and when I point out that nothingness is is not only improbable but impossible their argument is wasted time Seems to me they would have to incorporate a relitivity approach to truth, which just runs one around in circles seeking answers that can never be found. aA senseless and useless existance isnot explainable and could in no way be supported by any doctinal belief ,that itself would deny their entire belief structure. I'd like to try and give you an opposing point of view however to believe their doctrinal views would be in direct opposition to those same views. don't make sense to me or any one capable of carrying a complete thought

I was talking in the context of the Soratic Method, a generally maligned form or teaching in this day of Political Correctness which seems to hold that some things should never be opposed, for that is Taboo, although you can freely oppose my faith, it seems.

Tolerance is everything but tolerance of my faith, which is made intollerable by Hypocrits spouting acceptance of all and yet not accepting my belief in such a way that their philosophical construct is sooo wrong that it becomes pure sophistry.

Acting the part of one of those misguided people, who can at times be very crafty is what I was alluding to. You do not need to believe to make the arguement. You are making a good presentation anyways, and I think I'd be as hamstrung as you trying to take the other side for the sake of arguement.

    It was just a thought.
